Overview

Sierra Tucson is seeking an experienced Adult Inpatient Psychiatrist to join our hospital‑based psychiatric team. This physician will provide comprehensive psychiatric care to adult inpatients, including diagnostic evaluations, medication management, crisis intervention, and treatment planning in collaboration with an interdisciplinary team.

Since 1984, Sierra Tucson, a 183 bed facility, located in Tucson, Arizona has been a world-class leader in residential treatment and maintains a high standard of excellence for individuals aged 18 and older, who are struggling with drug & alcohol addiction, depression, anxiety, trauma, and co-occurring disorders such as disordered eating.

 

Overview:

Responsible for the diagnosis and treatment of mental illnesses through a combination of personal counseling (psychotherapy), psychoanalysis, hospitalization and/or medication.

Responsibilities

Summary:

  • Responsible for providing clinical services to patients at the facility.
  • Practice within medical protocols defined by federal and state regulations, as well as by corporate, facility policy or procedures.
  • Review medical information on patients to ensure medical stability and to offer medical recommendations.
  • Evaluate patients for mental, emotional or behavioral disorders.
  • Treat or direct treatment of patients, utilizing a variety of psychotherapeutic methods and medications.
  • Review and complete medical information for individual care plans, documents services and information in a timely manner.
  • Maintain confidential documentation, compliance and billing in accordance with the policy and procedures.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Doctoral degree in Medicine (MD or DO) required.
  • One or more years’ post graduate degree practice preferred.
  • Licensed in the state in which the facility(s) operate.

Licenses/Certifications:

  • Board certification in psychiatry
  • Current DEA credentials to prescribe controlled substances without restrictions and per regulation within the state in which the practitioner will be working.

Compensation: $310,000 - $350,000, depending on experience and schedule
