OVERVIEW

Work with senior management to prepare the annual budget and forecasts as requested. Track actual results with budgeted assumptions and provide variance analysis that is clear and identifies actions needed. Work with program directors as a full business partner to provide suggestions for improvements and accurate reporting. Provide detailed analysis and modeling of current and projected performance. Position may from time to time be stressful and require a high demand of performance. May perform other duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Follows established organization and generally accepted accounting policy and procedures
  • Prepares annual budget and outlooks as required and requested
  • Maintain weekly cash flow forecasts
  • Assists in preparation of Monthly reports and board presentations
  • Follows all internal financial policies and assists in documenting procedures as needed
  • Applies skills and experience to highlight information and data to impact performance and improve operations
  • Performs financial review and summary of new grants and funding to ensure full understanding of all involved
  • Assists in overseeing needs and changes to allocations
  • Prepares and maintains schedules and documentation for external auditors
  • Provides customer service, including answering financial questions and researching and interpreting financial data
  • Strive to become expert on data and reporting in accounting software
  • Exercises professional judgment and assumes responsibility for decisions
  • Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential
  • May drive personal or agency vehicle on company business

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Suitable work experience may be considered as transferable skills in order to meet minimum requirements of the position and will be considered by the Executive Director of Human Resources.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
  • 3 to 4 years of directly-related experience
  • Strong and proven experience with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft applications
  • Proven ability to prioritize, manage multiple tasks/assignments, and meet deadlines
  • Excellent analytical skills and strong attention to detail
  • Proven strong communication skills - oral and written communications are clear, concise, and in an organized fashion using appropriate style, grammar, and tone
  • Proven record of excellent customer service and teamwork

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Work is completed primarily indoors in an office environment
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer
  • Requires constant experience with competing priorities in an occasionally high-stress environment

REGULATORY

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Valid driver license, proof of insurance, and 39-month motor vehicle report
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Arizona Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card and FBI National Criminal Records History Report (employer paid)
  • Pass pre-employment drug screen (incudes marijuana, regardless of recreational use laws) (employer paid)

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master of Business Administration (MBA)
  • Additional years of directly-related experience
  • Experience with Financial Edge Accounting System
