Laborer
About Us: Southwest Mobile Storage specializes in modifying storage containers for sale or lease. We take pride in our ability to provide high-quality, customized portable storage solutions while delivering outstanding customer service. We are seeking a reliable, self-motivated General Laborer to join our hardworking shop team at our Tucson branch, where communication and teamwork thrive. As a General Laborer, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing our portable storage containers to ensure they are in top condition and ready for customer use.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with general labor tasks throughout yard, shop, and operational areas.
- Load, unload, move, organize, and clean materials, equipment, containers, and operational workspaces.
- Assist with basic repairs, maintenance, fabrication, and operational support activities as assigned.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and basic equipment safely and properly.
- Maintain clean and organized work areas, yards, shops, and operational spaces.
- Support drivers, fabrication personnel, shop staff, and operations personnel as needed.
- Follow company safety procedures and operational standards.
- Assist with inventory movement, material handling, and equipment staging.
- Report operational, maintenance, or safety concerns to management.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
- Perform additional duties requested by upper management.
Physical Requirements:
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing, lifting, and physical movement throughout shift.
- Ability to lift and move up to 75 lbs.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Exposure to operational yards, shops, equipment, tools, machinery, and loud environments.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous labor, construction, warehouse, yard, or operational experience preferred.
- Ability to operate basic tools and equipment preferred.
- Ability to follow safety procedures and operational instructions required.
- Forklift experience or certification preferred.
- Valid driver’s license preferred.
