Position:             F&B Attendant

Department:       Food & Beverage

 

Job Summary:   

Provides beverage service to guests in an efficient, courteous, and professional manner displaying a high standard of guest service.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensures food and drink are delivered accurately and in a timely manner to guests.
  • Offers warm and sincere welcome/farewell to guests using a guest’s name, when possible, and making good eye contact.
  • Communicates with guests using clear and enthusiastic words, tone, and body language at all times.
  • Makes guests feel appreciated through actions; offers assistance before it is requested.
  • Anticipates guests’ needs by being alert to signals such as their raising a hand; acknowledges guests so they know the signal was observed.
  • Works with others to keep all areas cleaned and stocked in accord with departmental standards at all times.
  • Teams with others to maintain an effective atmosphere and an efficient food and beverage service.
  • Complies with State alcohol serving requirements.
  • Requests supervisor assistance when needed for an uncooperative guest or when unable to fulfill a request.
  • Demonstrates positive, interpersonal skills with guests and team members.
  • Functions as a supportive team member during shifts.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
  • Provide fast (20 minutes or less round time), friendly, courteous, professional food and beverage service to casino guests.
  • Picks up empty glasses and returns them to the proper area.
  • Assists in the preparation of drink orders as required (icing glasses, garnishing drinks).
  • Maintains a clean station at all times and performs assigned side work duties such as stocking coffee, glasses, cream, sugar, beverage napkins, etc.
  • Works in assigned area, cleaning and sanitizing tables, restocking, and returning trays and soiled plates to proper areas.
  • Checks tables and dining room at start of shift to ensure that area is prepared to meet guest needs; cleans and/or sets tables and fills condiments where needed.
  • Must possess a cooperative and friendly nature.
  • Ability to communicate and follow directions effectively.
  • Must present a clean and well-groomed appearance.
  • Must possess sound, mature judgment, and monitor guests’ consumption of alcoholic beverages and intervening as necessary following alcohol awareness guidelines.
  • Follow and practice all alcoholic beverage laws, policies, and regulations.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

        

Essential functions of the position:

  • Must be able to lift, carry, and transport materials and/or equipment frequently up to 40 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Must be able to sit, walk, or stand for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to reach high areas, stoop, pull, push, kneel, squat, twist, grip, and bend for duties.
  • Must be able to work at and travel to all CDS properties.
  • Must be able to follow both verbal and written directions.
  • Must be able to read, write, and effectively communicate with all guests and team members positively and professionally.
  • Must be able to work in environments with high noise levels, flashing lights, smoking areas, and large crowds.
  • Must be able to work in a high-pressure/fast-paced environment.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of applicable health standards and workplace safety procedures.
  • Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations as well as Casino Del Sol internal controls, policies, and procedures.
  • Skill in developing and maintaining good working relationships.
  • Strong communication and guest service skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Skill in providing exceptional guest service and a desire to provide leadership to position the property to achieve excellence in service and quality.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Experience in the food service industry.
  • Inventory control experience.
  • Must obtain valid food handler’s and alcohol awareness cards within 90 days of employment.
  • Must be able to work any shift, weekends, holidays, and special events, as needed.
  • Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol screening in accordance with company policy.
  • Must have employment eligibility in the U.S.
  • Must be able to obtain, and retain a valid gaming license/background check.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • High School or General Equivalency Diploma
  • Six (6) months of restaurant busser or food attendant.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish).
