We are looking for a Senior Analytics Engineer to build data models that enable analytics and decision-making across ThriftBooks. You will make data easy to discover, understand, and trust. Working closely with business analysts, data scientists and engineers, you’ll build the analytics foundation that supports reporting, experimentation, and operational decision making. WHAT YOU'LL DO: Use dbt to deliver well-defined, transformed, tested, documented, and code-reviewed data sets that enable business analysts to answer questions without reinventing business logic. Improve data quality through debugging, testing, monitoring, documentation, and process improvements that balance performance, maintainability, and business needs Work closely with business partners to understand business processes, define metrics, anticipate future needs, and translate ambiguous questions into scalable solutions. Promote analytics engineering best practices through thoughtful solution design, code review and collaboration. Contribute to a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence. Use off-the-shelf tools like Fivetran and Stitch for data ingestion TRAVEL: This role involves limited travel for collaboration and professional development (approximately 10 days per year). LOCATION: We find that some in-person time supports our digital work. This is a hybrid role based out of our Tukwila, Washington corporate office. QualificationsWHAT YOU'LL BRING: Experience building production analytics data models in dbt on large data sets. Experienced in data warehousing (ideally Snowflake) and BI visualization (we use Mode). Demonstrated ability to independently lead technical projects from ambiguous requirements to production-ready solutions Experience collaborating with software engineers and business partners. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Engineering Judgement: You apply design thinking by exploring the underlying need, generating multiple approaches, and validating that your solution solves the problem. You consider tradeoffs – scale, maintainability, performance. BASE SALARY: $112,000 -$168,000/yr. This range reflects the good-faith hiring base salary range for this position.
