Together we facilitate healing, one patient at a time.   The Assistant Director of Nursing & Education (ADON/Education) assists the Director of Nursing (DON) in planning, organizing, directing, and evaluating nursing services while leading the development, implementation, and oversight of clinical education programs throughout the hospital. This position promotes clinical excellence, regulatory compliance, workforce development, competency validation, and quality patient care. Because the organization does not utilize unit directors or managers within nursing services, this position works collaboratively with all members of the leadership team and frontline staff to support patient care, operations, and organizational goals. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Assist the DON in planning, organizing, directing, and evaluating nursing department operations. Provide leadership, support, and mentoring to RNs, LPNs, and MHTs. Collaborate with hospital leadership and staff to ensure safe, effective, patient-centered care. Coordinate orientation, onboarding, competency validation, and annual competency assessments. Develop, implement, and evaluate clinical education and staff development programs. Maintain regulatory readiness and compliance with Joint Commission, CMS, DHS, and other requirements. Support quality improvement, patient safety, and performance improvement initiatives. Monitor educational outcomes and competency completion. Promote evidence-based practice, certification, and professional development. Assist with staffing oversight, recruitment, retention, and employee development. Participate in audits, surveys, incident reviews, and corrective action planning. Prepare reports and recommendations regarding nursing operations and education programs. Serve as a clinical resource and role model for professional practice. Participate in committees, meetings, and organizational initiatives. ADON Current Oklahoma RN license. BSN required; MSN or related graduate degree preferred. Minimum five years clinical nursing experience. Minimum two years behavioral health experience. Leadership, supervisory, education, or staff development experience preferred. Current BLS/CPR certification. Aggression Management, Trauma-Informed Care, and De-escalation training required.
