Position Summary

We are looking for a skilled and dependable Diesel Mechanic to join our clients maintenance team working on a fleet of garbage and refuse trucks and equipment. This position is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel-powered equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation.

Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and repair diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and other vehicle components
  • Perform preventative maintenance and scheduled inspections on refuse trucks
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues
  • Repair or replace brakes, suspension components, steering systems, and driveline parts
  • Complete work orders and maintenance records accurately
  • Ensure vehicles meet safety and operational standards
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and organized manner
  • Follow company safety procedures and regulations
Qualifications
  • Previous diesel mechanic experience preferred
  • Experience with heavy-duty trucks, construction equipment, or refuse trucks is a plus
  • Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues
  • Familiarity with hydraulic systems preferred
  • Own basic mechanic tools preferred
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Reliable attendance and dependable work ethic
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift heavy parts and equipment
  • Ability to bend, kneel, crawl, and work in various positions throughout the day
  • Comfortable working in a shop environment and outdoors when needed
  • Ability to perform physically demanding work safely

This is a temp to hire position and full time benefits will be offered upon full hire status
