Job Summary:


This is an opening for a mathematics teacher to teach full time within the bounds of our open and inclusive academic program.

The person who assumes this job will:


  • Create dynamic learning experiences for students that honors human difference balanced with academic discipline and growth. 
  • Collaborate with colleagues, parents, guardians, support staff, and others to support and drive those learning experiences.
  • Be a student of the content and craft of teaching in the creation of curriculum, assessment, evidence-based support strategies, and holistic teaching.
  • Use all forms of observable data to drive decision making to narrow achievement gaps, elevate student humanity, and enrich the school's academic program.
  • Maintain a safe, predictable, humanizing classroom where all students have the ability to succeed.


Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree is required, while a degree in education or a related field is preferred
  • Experience working with secondary students in an educational setting (preferred)
  • Teaching certification or licensure is preferred
  • Strong knowledge of many dimensions of subject area concepts
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Passion for teaching and a commitment to student success
  • Proficiency in educational technology and digital learning tools


Working Conditions:


Teachers typically work indoors in a classroom setting, with occasional opportunities for outdoor or experiential learning activities. This role may involve standing for extended periods, interacting with students and colleagues, and attending meetings or professional development sessions outside of regular school hours.
