Job Summary: The Recruiter will research, develop, and implement effective recruiting and staffing strategies to attract a diverse pool of qualified and capable talent for the organization. Performs a variety of administrative duties in day-to-day operations and activities. 

Supervisory Responsibilities: 

None.


Essential Functions:

  • Maintain confidentiality of all company and personnel related information.
  • Must be able to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
  • Thorough understanding of recruiting methods and best practices, as well as applicable policies and federal, state employment laws and regulations.
  • Must be able to gather and analyze information skillfully.
  • Maintain professionalism in greeting and assisting staff, applicants and customers.
  • Perform general office duties (filing, copying, scanning, faxing).
  • Prepare and distribute correspondence, create, and update spreadsheets, etc.
  • Receive employment applications and distribute to appropriate departments.
  • Weekly update of recruiting efforts, jobs openings, and potential hires for upcoming classes, to HR Director.
  • Identifies and implements efficient and effective recruiting methods and strategies based on the available role, industry standards, and the needs of the organization.
  • Complete the New Hire Employee File checklist. Forward new hire personnel file and completed checklist to HR Assistant.
  • Research new hiring practices and implement them for new sources of passive and active candidate recruiting.
  • Recruit (i.e., develop materials and resources, creating and placing job ads, fliers, banners, job fairs, networking, internal job postings, etc.).
  • Utilize HRIS (ADP) to track and screen applicants
  • Maintain relationships with area agencies, colleges, non-profit agencies, unemployment office, media, etc. in efforts to fill job openings. 
  • Schedules interviews or interviewing; oversees preparation of interview questions and other hiring and selection materials.
  • Vet potential employees’ credentials including verifications of employment; background checks; scheduling pre-employment drug screens and physicals; and orientation class.
  • Assess current talent acquisition procedures and develop more efficient processes to find great candidates.
  • Assist with responding to Oklahoma Employment Security Commission on unemployment requests and appeals.
  • Must be flexible and work evenings and/or weekends as necessary.
  • Must report to work on a regular and timely basis.
  • Must be available to attend training on or offsite.
  • Assume responsibility for special projects when assigned.
  • Assume additional responsibilities as directed or required.
  •  Document retention.
  • Assist with scheduling pre-employment drug screens/physicals, when needed.
  • Assist with ordering MVRs annually (Oct/Nov).
  • Respond to benefit questions and issues.
  • Assist with Preparing, maintaining, updating, and submitting reports and logs:
  • Promotions/transfers (ongoing)
  • Pension Cards – (New Hires and Terminations)
  • Keep retirement logs up to date.



REQUIREMENTS:

 Must be able to maintain confidential information.

 

Knowledge - High School Diploma or GED required with at least three years of work experience; associate degree preferred. ADP Recruit experience preferred. Must have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with the public and co-workers on the telephone, in person, and in group settings. Excellent grammar, spelling, and punctuation skills are required. Ability to exhibit a high level of confidentiality and reliability. Ability to take initiative in completion of tasks. Knowledge of various employment laws and practices. Good computer knowledge and usage skills. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.


License - Must have an Oklahoma Class D driver license. Must have received no moving violations within the last 3 years and have no DUI/DWI convictions.


Mental Effort - Requires ability to handle numerous activities at once. Must be able to work with limited supervision and possess excellent organizational skills.


Physical - May be required to lift or push 25 lbs. and be able to store office materials overhead. Requires the ability to sit or stand for long periods.


Audible/Visual Demands - Requires ability to hear telephone and directions given; visually perform essential functions for satisfactory job performance. Ability to view visual display terminals for extended periods.


Miscellaneous - Must be safety conscious and avoid accidents if possible.
