Position Summary

Saber Power Services is seeking a highly skilled Operations Manager to oversee and manage the daily operations of construction projects across assigned Oklahoma area. This role is accountable for consistent project execution, operational efficiency, resource coordination, and performance across safety, quality, schedule, and financial objectives. The Operations Manager works closely with the Operations Director, Account managers, Construction Managers, project teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to provide quotes, kick jobs off, resolve issues, improve execution, and ensure construction activities align with Saber Power Services standards and business objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily construction operations across assigned the Oklahoma Area and multiple concurrent high voltage, Medium voltage & low voltage electrical infrastructure projects, including substations, transmission, and distribution work.
  • Provide leadership, direction, and performance oversight to Sales team, Construction Managers, ensuring consistent execution of project plans, field standards, and operational expectations.
  • Partner with the Sales & Operations Director to implement operational strategies, performance expectations, and business objectives across Estimating, Procurement, Construction, and Project Management activities.
  • Monitor project portfolios for safety, schedule, cost, quality, staffing, productivity, risk, and client performance; identify trends and implement corrective actions before issues materially affect project outcomes.
  • Coordinate with account managers, sales leadership, project managers, engineering, construction leadership, subcontractors, suppliers, utility clients, and internal support functions to maintain alignment on scope, sequencing, resource needs, and deliverables.
  • Enforce strict adherence to company safety requirements and applicable OSHA, NFPA 70E, client, and site-specific standards, reinforcing Saber Power Services' expectation to work safely or not at all.
  • Review project schedules, manpower plans, cost reports, forecasts, change management, procurement status, and other operating metrics to support on-time and within-budget delivery.
  • Support Construction Managers in resolving complex field execution issues, subcontractor performance concerns, material or equipment constraints, and site coordination challenges.
  • Ensure project teams maintain required documentation, including work plans, method statements, QA/QC records, daily reporting, progress documentation, and turnover requirements.
  • Conduct periodic project and site reviews to verify construction quality, compliance with design specifications, productivity, operational discipline, and adherence to applicable codes and standards.
  • Coordinate resource allocation across projects, including field supervision, craft labor, subcontractors, tools, equipment, and critical construction materials, escalating capacity needs to the Operations Director as appropriate.
  • Support financial performance by reviewing project cost trends, labor productivity, commitments, forecasts, and recovery plans; drive accountability for approved budgets and margin objectives.
  • Lead operational and project performance meetings, communicate priorities and expectations, and ensure timely escalation and resolution of significant risks, client concerns, or execution barriers.
  • Develop Construction Managers and other operational leaders through coaching, performance feedback, succession planning, and reinforcement of consistent management practices.
  • Promote collaboration among Remote Office locations and corporate support functions to improve standardization, knowledge sharing, productivity, and overall operating effectiveness.
  • Build and maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships by supporting clear communication, reliable execution, issue resolution, and professional project delivery.
  • Perform other job-related duties as requested by management.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of relevant construction management experience required; 15+ years desired.
  • 5+ years of managerial or supervisory experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Project Management, Construction Management, or a related field required.
  • PMP or similar project / construction management certification required.
  • MBA preferred.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
  • High-voltage electrical construction experience strongly preferred, including substations, transmission, distribution, or related utility / industrial infrastructure.
  • Willingness to travel regularly among assigned Remote Office locations and project sites and to work in varying field and weather conditions as business needs require.

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong working knowledge of construction operations, project controls, field execution, subcontractor management, procurement coordination, quality requirements, and applicable safety regulations.
  • Proficient in MS products, including Microsoft scheduling.
  • Ability to read electrical, structural and civil prints.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities while balancing safety, client commitments, schedule, cost, quality, and resource constraints.
  • Strong financial and commercial acumen, including budget management, forecasting, cost-to-complete review, productivity analysis, and operational performance management.
  • Proven leadership capability with experience developing managers, setting expectations, driving accountability, and resolving cross-functional issues.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with project management and construction systems such as Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, and standard construction documentation / reporting tools.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with executives, clients, project teams, field leadership, subcontractors, suppliers, and support functions.
