Omega Paint & Body, a division of Nelson Mazda Tulsa, is looking for a dependable, hardworking Painter's Assistant to join our team. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in quality work, and wants to be part of a fast-paced automotive reconditioning team. Schedule Monday through Friday Report time no later than 8:00 AM each workday Occasional Saturday shifts may be required to meet business demands Earlier start times during the summer (as early as 5:30 AM) are expected to help beat the heat Winter start times may vary based on weather conditions and daylight Compensation Starting Pay: $15.00 per hour Full-time position averaging 40–45 hours per week Responsibilities The Painter's Assistant supports the Omega Paint & Body Painter with daily operations and helps ensure vehicles are prepared and completed efficiently. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Prepare vehicles for paint by washing, cleaning, sanding, masking, and taping Move vehicles between the paint area and dealership lot Restock paint trailer supplies and communicate inventory needs Assist the Sales and Service Departments with paint corrections and customer-related paint concerns Clean and maintain painting tools, equipment, and work areas Remove trash and maintain a clean, organized paint area Communicate daily with the Nelson Inventory Team regarding vehicle reconditioning priorities Assist the painter with additional duties as needed to support daily operations QualificationsQualifications Strong work ethic and dependable attendance Ability to work independently and as part of a team Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record Ability to safely operate both manual and automatic transmission vehicles is preferred Previous automotive, body shop, or paint preparation experience is a plus, but not required Physical Requirements Ability to work outdoors for the entire shift in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, wind, and rain Frequently stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and reach throughout the workday Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly Ability to push and pull equipment, tools, and vehicles as needed Must be able to safely enter and exit vehicles repeatedly throughout the day Ability to use hand tools, sanding equipment, and other automotive preparation tools Must have sufficient vision, hearing, and manual dexterity to safely perform job duties Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including respirators, gloves, and eye protection, when necessary Omega Paint & Body is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
