Regional Automation Engineer 

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Focus on optimizing and advancing process technologies within production facilities. 

  • Lead engineering teams to develop and implement innovative solutions that enhance safety, efficiency, and sustainability. 

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure processes comply with industry standards and are continuously improved to meet operational goals. 

  • Provide ongoing support for multiple seed production facilities in the region. 

  • Maintain and improve existing control systems, ensuring equipment reliability, on-stream time, seed quality, and safety of seed manufacturing operations. 

  • Conceive, design, install, start up, and commission medium scale automation/control improvement projects. 

  • Lead and drive PLC, HMI programming, and IT management efforts at sites. 

  • Become an expert in site production and control system needs and provide technical support. 

  • Monitor, trend, identify, and develop solutions to control system issues. 

  • Collaborate with other automation engineers to ensure strong network alignment and standardized systems. 

  • Mentor automation technicians. 

WHO YOU ARE 
Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following: 

Required Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Automation Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or comparable Technology with 3 years of experience, or 8 years of practical experience such as experience derived from the Automation Technician role at Bayer production plants. 

  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills. 

  • Collaborative team player capable of working well with people across all hierarchies internally and externally. 

  • Good organizational and presentation skills. 

  • Good interpersonal skills such as communication, listening, verbal, and assertiveness. 

  • Results-driven with the ability to manage ambiguity. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience in automation systems and control technologies. 

Employees can expect to be paid a salary between $71,120.00 - $106,680.00. Additional compensation may include a bonus or incentive compensation (if relevant). Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc. This salary range is merely an estimate and may vary based on an applicant's location, market data/ranges, an applicant's skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
