Position Summary:

The Planner/Scheduler is responsible for planning, coordinating, and monitoring production schedules to ensure efficient operations and on-time delivery. This role works cross-functionally with engineering, procurement, and production teams to optimize resources and maintain workflow alignment. We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Production Planner to join our team. In this vital role, you will orchestrate the manufacturing process by developing efficient production schedules, managing inventory levels, and coordinating cross-functional activities to ensure timely delivery of products. Your expertise in supply chain management, demand forecasting, and production management systems will drive operational excellence and support our commitment to quality and customer satisfaction.

Duties:

  • Develop and maintain master production schedules (MPS) to align with demand forecasts and customer orders using ERP systems such as SAP and Oracle
  • Coordinate with procurement, manufacturing, logistics, and sales teams to ensure seamless supply chain operations
  • Monitor inventory levels across multiple inventory management systems to optimize stock availability and reduce excess or obsolete inventory
  • Utilize demand planning techniques and forecasting analysis to anticipate production needs accurately
  • Manage production scheduling within manufacturing systems to maximize efficiency while adhering to lead times and capacity constraints
  • Analyze Excel data and spreadsheets for production data analysis, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to communicate production plans, resolve scheduling conflicts, and implement lean manufacturing principles for process improvement

Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of supply chain management principles and inventory control strategies
  • Proficiency in ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, and other production management software
  • Experience with MRP (Material Requirements Planning), demand forecasting analysis, and demand planning tools
  • Technical proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel for data analysis and reporting
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing methodologies to enhance operational efficiency
  • Excellent cross-functional communication skills for effective collaboration across departments
  • Ability to interpret manufacturing data, perform spreadsheet analysis, and develop accurate production schedules

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • 3–10 years of experience in manufacturing or construction planning/scheduling
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems (Epicor experience a plus)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
