Position Summary

The Senior Accountant supports the B&W Chanute Division based in Tulsa, Oklahoma. This role is responsible for the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial records and reporting within a manufacturing operating environment. Responsibilities include general ledger accounting, cost accounting, inventory valuation, labor and overhead rates, fixed assets, and internal controls. The Senior Accountant partners closely with manufacturing operations and project accounting to ensure financial results accurately reflect manufacturing activity.

Key Responsibilities

·         Execute month-end and year-end close activities, including preparation and posting of journal entries and accruals

·         Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring timely resolution of reconciling items

·         Perform cost accounting, including labor, overhead, and manufacturing variance analysis

·         Support inventory valuation for work-in-process (WIP), finished goods, and excess or obsolete inventory

·         Account for fixed assets and capital projects related to manufacturing operations

·         Review summarized project accounting results and ensure accurate recording in the general ledger

·         Prepare monthly financial statements and management reporting with clear explanations of cost and margin drivers

·         Support internal and external audits and ensure compliance with GAAP and internal control requirements



Qualifications

·         Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance

·         4–6+ years of progressive accounting experience in a manufacturing environment preferred

·         Strong understanding of GAAP, cost accounting, labor rates, and inventory accounting

·         Advanced Excel skills and experience working in ERP environments
