SUMMARY: Senior Staff Accountant is responsible for overseeing various components of accounting for month-end reporting.  

 

ESSENTIAL COMPETENCIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Personally exhibits, recruits, and coaches associates consistent with Core Behaviors
    • Responsible for promoting culture of safety
    • Prepare journal entries as required by monthly close process by specified due dates
    • Reconcile accounts as assigned by specified due dates including but not limited to intercompany for accounts receivable and account payable, inventory, prepaids, accruals and the company corporate credit card
    • Preform analytics on accounts as required for monthly variance explanations
    • Responding to and analyzing information requests from other departments
    • Prepare schedules as required by the interim and annual audit
    • Perform other duties and projects as assigned
    • Perform all work in accordance to ISO policy and procedures

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong technical skills in Accounting; GAAP knowledge required
  • Advanced computer skills in MS Office (Excel), and accounting software
  • Excellent time management, organization, and communication skills
  • Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year end close process
  • Intercompany reconciliations and inventory experience
  • Accuracy and attention to detail

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • No direct supervisory responsibility. May perform team lead duties.

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
  • 3+ years’ experience working in in a similar position required

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

  • CPA preferred, not required

 

 WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Employee is regularly required to speak and understand English, stand, walk, sit, use hand to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms. Employee is required to use computer and other equipment.
  • Employee frequently lifts and/or moves up to _25_ pounds. Specific vision abilities include close vision and the ability to clearly focus vision.
