Overview

Develop, maintain, and test technologies for use in hot tapping and plugging applications of the pipeline industry. Transition new tools from development, through testing, to sustaining, including reviewing and approving design documentation. This includes troubleshooting, root cause analysis, designing, testing, and implementation of solutions. Mechanically inclined working with all aspects of mechanical parts, assemblies, processes, and equipment.

 

Responsibilities

  • Designs new products and improvements for hot tapping and plugging applications using CAD software and other development tools.

  • Develops and assembles prototypes to test their function in accordance with detailed test plans and test reports.

  • Works with a team to identify and solve complex technical problems related to mechanical systems and components.

  • Performs research for new technologies, technical publications, and voice of customer to generate ideas for improvements.

  • Produces and interprets technical deliverables (e.g., engineering calculations, FEA, test reports, etc.)

  • Frequently assists and interacts with other departments to ensure quality, manufacturability, and supply chain needs are met.

  • Collaborates with other engineers, technicians, and production staff to ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget.

  • Other job responsibilities as assigned.

 

Requirements:

Experience

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering.

  • 5+ years of engineering experience.

  • Experience performing calculations for engineering design.

  • Experience with 3D CAD software, SolidWorks preferred.

  • Familiarity with testing using sensors and data acquisition.
