Job DetailsJob Location: Tulsa, OK 74135Position Type: Part TimePosition Overview The Assistant Coach supports the Head Coach in carrying out the goals and objectives of the athletic program, in alignment with the educational, social, and values based mission of the school. This role includes instructing student athletes in individual and team fundamentals, strategy, and physical conditioning to promote personal development and achieve competitive success as a team.   As an employee of Bishop Kelley, you understand and agree that you will serve as a minister of the Catholic faith called to teach and act in faithful accordance with the precepts and teachings of the Catechism of the Catholic Church (“CCC”) and the local ordinary, the Bishop of the Diocese of Tulsa and Eastern Oklahoma. As an employee, by both word and deed, you will serve as an integral part of the religious formation of the students entrusted to the School by their parents as part of their sacred vocation (cf. CCC n. 2201-203; 22 29). You will serve as a minister of the Catholic faith and will be called to give a personal witness to the Gospel at all times.   Essential Job Functions Demonstrate a commitment to Catholic values and the promotion of the associated culture within a Catholic school. Abide by the rules of the school, the sport, and the OSSAA, while demonstrating the teaching values, and the ethical and moral behavior in line with the mission of the school. Assist Head Coach in planning, scheduling information, providing transportation receipts and requirements for tournament and special events. Assist in the necessary preparation to hold scheduled sports events or practices and adheres to scheduled facility times. Coordinates program with maintenance and school employees. Provides proper safeguards for maintenance and protection of assigned equipment Provides training rules and other unique regulations of the sport to each athlete who is considered a participant. Provide assistance, guidance and safeguards for each participant by being present at all practices, games and while traveling Assists in maintaining, tracking and recording of equipment inventory. Assists in maintaining general cleanliness of locker rooms and sports facilities. Assists the Head Coach in carrying out their responsibilities. Instructs team members as to changes in the rules and teaches fundamentals of the sport as outlined by the Head Coach. Works within the basic framework and philosophy of the Head Coach of that sport. Attends all staff meetings and carries out scouting assignments as outlined by the Head Coach Helps in planning and implementing of both in-season and out of season programs. Strives to improve skills by attending clinics and using resources made available by the Head Coach or school. Performs such other duties that are consistent with the nature of the position and that may be requested by the Head Coach, Athletic Director or Assistant Athletic Director.  QualificationsPhysical Demands Lifting up to 60 lbs. unassisted Frequent prolonged standing, sitting, squatting, bending, stooping, running and walking. Manual dexterity for typing Competencies (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)   Works cooperatively with the Administration and supports administrative policies. Works as a team member with the educational staff. Demonstrates positive interpersonal relations with students and parents. Demonstrates a sense of professional responsibility. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Member in good standing of the Oklahoma Coaches Association   Educational and Experience Requirements  Prefer a bachelor’s degree in a related field  The ability to organize and supervise a total sports program  Demonstrate a knowledge of the rules and officiating techniques of the sport.  Previous coaching experience in the assigned sport is required; head coaching experience preferred.  Substantial knowledge of the technical aspects of the sport, while also continuing to examine new theories and procedures pertinent to the field    As a diocesan Catholic high school, Bishop Kelley prioritizes hiring individuals who support our mission.
