Build the roads your community relies on while building a career you can count on. We’re hiring construction inspection professionals for a 5-year program with PennDOT District 3, offering steady work and long-term stability.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform field inspections to ensure construction aligns with plans, specifications, and applicable standards
- Collect materials samples (soil, concrete, asphalt) and document testing results
- Monitor construction quality, progress, and workmanship
- Maintain accurate daily reports, logs, and photo documentation
- Identify and communicate non-conformance issues and recommend corrective actions
- Ensure compliance with PennDOT, NYSDOT, local, and federal requirements
- Observe, document, and report jobsite safety concerns
Requirements
- B.S. in Engineering, Science, Environmental or related field preferred
- Experience in construction inspection, civil engineering, or construction management preferred
- Familiarity with roadway, bridge, or heavy civil construction preferred (PennDOT or NYSDOT experience preferred)
- Strong attention to detail with solid documentation and communication skills
- Ability to work outdoors in active construction environments
- Valid Driver’s License
- Certifications are a plus or willingness to obtain: ACI Field Testing Technician, NICET Highway Construction, PennDOT Concrete, NECEPT Asphalt
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
- Ability to safely access and navigate active construction sites
- Capable of walking on uneven terrain
- Work environments may include office and field settings, with exposure to dust, noise, fumes, and weather conditions
