Job DetailsJob Location: Casino - Tuolumne, CA 95379Position Type: Full Time SUMMARY:   Responsible for managing and coordinating all functions within Black Oak Casino Resort property.  Responsible for production of each event scheduled on the Black Oak Casino Resort property.   Essential Responsibilities and Duties:  (Specific areas of responsibility including, but not limited to) Oversees the day-to-day operations of Black Oak Casino Resort banquet staff. Ensures customer service standards are attained. Coordinates banquet functions with kitchen, sales and clients. Conducts performance conversations and counsels employees on performance problems. Supervises and trains banquet staff.   Interviews and hires banquet staff. Attends weekly Banquet Event Order (BEO) meetings. Works with clients to ensure functions have everything provided for function to run smoothly. Maintains accurate and detailed banquet event orders for all departments. Provides banquet work schedule, writes performance appraisals and administrates pay increases. Maintains knowledge of Black Oak Casino events, promotions, programs and services. Assists Catering Sales Manager in providing guests accurate BEO quotes on all events, including timelines, food and beverage costs and labor costs. Provides employee training and sets standards for Banquet Department. Provides planning and strategy for future functions. Ensures budget requirements are adhered to. Ensures staffing is sufficient for daily functions. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications   Mandatory Requirements:   Must be at least 21 years of age. Must possess a high school diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent. Must have two years of sales/catering-related experience and/or training specific to banquets and catering. Must have a Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and 3 to 5 years’ experience. Must complete Food Handler or ServSafe and Responsible Alcohol Service certification, or have proof of current certification. Must possess and maintain a valid California driver license and Black Oak Casino driver’s permit. Must have strong interpersonal skills to achieve guest service standards. Must have knowledge of regulations governing food preparation and service. Ability to work as a team leader. Must have knowledge of accounting, data processing, audio visual equipment and management. Must be able to successfully communicate expectations and manage personnel. Must have experience as a Bartender. Must be able to pass a mandatory drug test. Must be able to obtain a valid gaming license. Must provide evidence of employment eligibility in the U.S. Must possess excellent communication and writing skills. Must be able to communicate proficiently in English.   Physical Demands: Required to lift up to 10lbs. Must be physically able to perform all job requirements.   Work Environment: Must be able to work in a non-smoke free environment. Must be able to work in a noisy environment. Must be able to work all shifts, weekends, holidays, and special events.
