Job description

Specialty Orthopedic Group is seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Workers’ Compensation Associate to join our clinic. This position will be Monday-Friday, full time.

JOB SUMMARY

The Workers’ Compensation Associate supports coordination of workers’ compensation cases and patient services. This role serves as a key liaison between patients, case managers, adjusters, insurance carriers, and clinical staff to ensure efficient communication, scheduling, and documentation throughout the workers’ compensation process.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Coordinate care and provide exceptional service to workers’ compensation patients, case managers, and insurance adjusters
  • Verify insurance benefits and obtain authorizations for office visits and specialty referrals
  • Schedule, reschedule, and coordinate patient appointments and referrals
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR) system
  • Communicate regularly with insurance carriers and workers’ compensation adjusters regarding claim status and authorizations
  • Ensure all workers’ compensation forms are completed and distributed appropriately
  • Track case updates, disputes, and status changes while maintaining organized patient records
  • Submit weekly case status updates and documentation to nursing staff
  • Respond promptly and professionally to incoming calls, voicemails, and information requests
  • Assist with process improvement initiatives and support new projects as needed
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of patient and financial information
  • Deliver a professional, courteous, and patient-centered experience in all interactions
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum of 2 years of workers’ compensation experience required
  • Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems preferred
  • Strong organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Professional demeanor with strong interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Commitment to confidentiality, accuracy, and teamwork
