Job description

Specialty Orthopedic Group is looking for an X-Ray Tech to join our clinic full-time. X-ray Tech is responsible for explaining the X-ray procedure to patients, preparing patients for the procedure and positioning them for the best possible outcome. Candidate must be willing to travel to other SOG clinics as needed for coverage.

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Greet patients is a professional and friendly manner
  • Produce quality radiographs to assist in the diagnosis of illnesses
  • Verify correct body part is examined
  • Align patient and equipment to obtain best possible position
  • Ensure the correct views are included in each exam
  • Educate patients regarding the procedure
  • Provide patients with copies of the images upon request
  • Confirm appropriate codes are used for billing
  • Ensure images are in the PACS system
  • Maintain quantity and quality control checks to assure X-ray unit meets standards required by laws, rules, and departmental policies.
  • Clean, maintain, and make minor adjustments to radiographic equipment, including determining repairs needed to equipment.
  • Protect patient and other personnel from radiation hazards
  • Other duties as assigned
