Sanitation Supervisor- 3rd Shift

The Operations/Sanitation Supervisor position will be accountable for successful production startups and shutdowns. The Operations/Sanitation Supervisor will work with both the Kitchen and Pack Room Lead to ensure all CCP’s are being adhered in accordance with Land O’Lakes requirements. Operations/Sanitation Supervisor will review all Work Orders, to make sure Pack room and Kitchen have issued material and ingredients according to Bill of Material. The Operations/Sanitation Supervisor will instruct all Leads on the shift to report any changes to the normal Work Order procedures. Operations/Sanitation Supervisor will monitor all production lines to ensure all personnel are conforming to the required GMP and Safety procedures. Also, ensure that all associates follow all verbal and or written instructions of the Land O’Lakes policies, Quality Control and Management Staff requirements.

Hours: 3rd Shift (8PM to 4:30AM)

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Safety & Compliance Leadership – Maintain a safe work environment, correct unsafe conditions, ensure adherence to safety, GMP, and HACCP requirements, investigate/report incidents, and conduct ongoing safety training.

  • Sanitation Program Ownership – Own daily sanitation operations, write and maintain Sanitation SSOPs, update and manage the Master Sanitation Schedule, and ensure proper chemical usage.

  • Inspections & Verifications – Conduct routine sanitation, pre-op, GMP, ATP, drain cleaning, and facility cleanup inspections; review and sign off on all required daily, weekly, monthly, and semi-annual documentation.

  • Validation & Audits – Plan, execute, and document sanitation validations with QA; submit required validation reports to Corporate; complete monthly GMP audits and quarterly KPI reporting.

  • QA & CCP Oversight – Partner with QA technicians and Leads to ensure CCP compliance, verify ATP results meet tolerance, and address all food safety or quality deviations.

  • Production & Operational Backup Lead – Ensure successful daily production startups and shutdowns, support 3rd shift operations, monitor filler, pack room, kitchen, and batching performance, and correct operational discrepancies.

  • Performance & Efficiency Management – Lead daily efficiency meetings using OEE data, analyze downtime and losses, monitor run rates, staffing, and overall department performance, and drive continuous improvement.

  • Workforce & Time Management – Set and adjust employee schedules, manage e-Time approvals and corrections, track attendance, enforce attendance policy, and support hiring and interviewing efforts.

  • Systems, Reporting & Work Orders – Maintain accurate records in JD Edwards, DSI, E-1, and Pro-Scan systems; reconcile work order discrepancies; complete pass-down reports; and communicate operational issues promptly.

  • Leadership & Resource Optimization – Apply company decision-making models, support peer supervisors, assist with cycle counts, and identify opportunities to reduce waste in utilities and operations.

Required Education/Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Biology, Food Science or related field and 1+ years experience in food manufacturing setting OR in lieu of degree 5+ years experience in a food manufacturing environment in a sanitation focused role.

  • Previous Leadership experience, experience managing direct reports

Physical Requirements:                                    

  • Will need to be able to work in a cold environment where temperatures can vary from 38° to 104° degrees.

  • Will need to be available to work Overtime, Weekends including Saturday and Sunday based on production needs.

  • Standing -  Entire shift / Pushing/Pulling - Frequently / Lift Capacity: up to 25 lbs. / Occasionally / Noise typical of a production environment - Entire shift / Hearing Protection - Required     

Salary Range: $70,800 - $106,200 . In most cases, candidates offered employment can expect to be hired at a pay rate near the middle of our salary ranges.
