About the Role:

The Executive Director serves is responsible for providing visionary leadership and strategic direction to the organization. This role ensures the alignment of all operational activities with the organization's mission, values, and long-term goals. The Executive Director oversees financial management, resource development, and stakeholder engagement to sustain and grow the organization's impact. They act as the primary representative and spokesperson, fostering relationships with partners, donors, government entities, and the community. Ultimately, the Executive Director drives organizational excellence by cultivating a high-performing team and promoting a culture of accountability and innovation.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Nonprofit Management, Public Administration, or a related field.
  • At least 7 years of senior leadership experience in nonprofit or mission-driven organizations.
  • Proven track record in strategic planning, financial management, and fundraising.
  • Strong understanding of governance and experience working with a board of directors.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in a relevant discipline.
  • Experience leading organizations with multi-million dollar budgets.
  • Demonstrated success in cultivating major donor relationships and securing grants.
  • Familiarity with relevant legal and regulatory requirements affecting nonprofit organizations.
  • Experience in the specific sector or industry relevant to the organization’s mission.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategic plans that advance the organization's mission and objectives.
  • Oversee daily operations, ensuring effective management of programs, staff, and resources.
  • Lead fundraising efforts, including grant writing, donor cultivation, and partnership development.
  • Manage the organization's budget, financial reporting, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Serve as the primary liaison to the board of directors, providing timely updates and facilitating governance processes.
  • Represent the organization at public events, conferences, and in media communications to enhance visibility and reputation.
  • Recruit, mentor, and evaluate senior leadership and staff to build a cohesive and motivated team.
  • Identify and pursue opportunities for organizational growth and innovation.
