Job DetailsJob Location: ALM-Tuscaloosa Al Corps - Tuscaloosa, AL 35404Job Category: HousingThis position is responsible for : Accepts and processes residents staying in shelter overnight; monitors the activity of residents on an assigned shift ensuring safety, security and compliance to house rules; maintains accurate and complete records and logs containing pertinent information; ensures that shelter is maintained in a neat and proper order. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Checks residents into the shelter; prepares and monitors residents and maintains residents' records. Monitors the activities of the shelter residents ensuring safety and compliance with shelter rules; checks the security and make periodic rounds of the entire facility. Assists with collecting and entering data into the HMIS database. Answers telephone and respond to questions regarding the shelter operations. Prepares and serves meals to residents as well as cleaning kitchen and dining area afterwards. Performs other related work as required.  WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR IN YOU:EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or G.E.D. and one year experience performing security work or working in a social service environment, or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS: None. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Knowledge of general office procedures and practices. Ability to communicate with residents in order to lead and motivate behavior. Ability to work with the public encompassing all types of behaviors. Ability to work independently with limited supervision while enforcing polices and procedures. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS: Ability to meet attendance requirements. Ability to read, write and communicate the English language. Ability to respond to emergency situations quickly and calmly while maintaining control and initiating the proper procedures.
