Summary

In this role, you'll be a key contributor to the accounting team, partnering with Project Managers and leadership to ensure financial integrity across the organization. You'll play an important role in month-end close, financial reporting, revenue recognition, payroll, reconciliations, compliance, and process improvements. Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly billings to customers in collaboration with Project Managers utilizing GAAP revenue recognition guidelines. 
  •  Reconcile revenue between the financial system and the production ERP system.
  • Upload, review, and reconcile weekly payroll files for processing, including 401K and FSA. Identify and resolve potential issues before processing. 
  • Reconcile Bank Accounts on a monthly basis.
  • Reconcile assigned GL accounts on monthly, quarterly, semiannually, or annually as required.
  • Perform adjusting journal entries to support month-end and year-end closing process.
  • Assist in audits.
  • Calculate and submit applications for business licenses and construction fee returns.
  • Prepare and submit city occupational tax returns as required.
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP principles in area of responsibility.
  • Perform backup function for other accounting positions as assigned.
  • Miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.



Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting is required.
  • Three or more years of accounting experience is required. Experience in construction or related industry preferred.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles.
  • Proficient computer skills. Intermediate Microsoft Office skills required, especially Excel. 
  • NetSuite experience is a plus.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
