POSITION TITLE AND WAGE:

Team Member - $18.50/hr, $19/hr after 6 months

DESCRIPTION OF COMPANY:

SMP develops and manufactures plastic parts and highly integrated modules for the automotive industry. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Operate production machinery, tools, and equipment according to standardized work instructions
• Assemble automotive parts and components to meet quality and production standards
• Perform visual and functional quality checks to ensure parts meet specifications
• Follow all safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements at all times
• Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with 5S standards
• Accurately complete required production, quality, and downtime documentation
• Report equipment issues, quality concerns, or safety hazards to the Team Leader or Supervisor
• Support changeovers, line setups, and minor troubleshooting as needed
• Meet or exceed daily production targets while maintaining quality standards
• Work cooperatively with team members to ensure smooth workflow and shift transitions
• Participate in continuous improvement activities and training opportunities

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 35 pounds for extended periods
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, repetitive production environment
• Basic mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
• Strong commitment to safety and quality
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
• Reliable attendance and punctuality
• Willingness to work overtime, weekends, or alternate shifts as required

HOURS AND WORK CONDITIONS:

2nd Shift – 1:45pm-10:00pm
3rd Shift – 9:45pm-6:00am

Work is performed in a fast-paced automotive manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery, noise, and varying temperatures.

• Team members must wear required PPE and follow all safety procedures.
• The role involves prolonged standing, walking, bending, and repetitive motion, with the ability to lift up to 35 pounds.
• Overtime, weekends, and shift changes may be required based on production needs.
