Job Description

Norco is currently seeking an individual to fill our Validation Specialist position. The Validation Specialist ensures accurate and timely submission of new claims and claims delayed due to errors. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Understand documentation requirements of insurance companies based on insurance contracts and guidelines
  • Append necessary billing modifiers and narratives for items billed to insurance
  • Complete claim submission process once all documentation has been properly received according to payer guidelines
  • Monitor and work Validations errors and reports
  • Comply will all federal and state payer regulatory policies regarding claim processing
  • Complete necessary follow up protocol applicable for prior authorization, reauthorization and unreturned documents
  • Work to insure patient information is kept up to date and complete Account Status changes
  • Perform other tasks as assigned or necessary

Qualifications

  • Prior medical billing experience preferred
  • Understand and remember various accounting codes and how to appropriately use them
  • Perform basic mathematics calculations
  • Read reports, computer screens, etc.
  • Excellent problem solving skills and public relations skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks
  • Sit for extended periods of time
  • Ability to perform task requiring manual dexterity (i.e. processing paperwork, filing, stapling, sorting, etc.)
