Job Summary

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving manufacturing equipment and facility systems in a manufacturing environment. This role supports production uptime, preventive maintenance programs, equipment reliability, and continuous improvement initiatives while ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. The Maintenance Technician works closely with production, engineering, and quality teams to support efficient operations in both manufacturing and cleanroom environments.


Essential Functions

  • Diagnose electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical issues on manufacturing equipment.
  • Support maintenance and repair activities for extrusion machinery, ovens, chillers, vacuum systems, cutters, winders, conveyors, and related production equipment.
  • Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance activities according to established schedules.
  • Read and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, blueprints, and electrical diagrams.
  • Install, maintain, and repair motors, sensors, drives, control systems, pumps, valves, and other industrial equipment.
  • Assist with equipment setup, changeovers, and process improvements to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and spare parts documentation within the maintenance management system.
  • Support root cause investigations and corrective actions related to equipment failures and downtime events.
  • Collaborate with production and engineering teams on equipment upgrades, process improvements, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with all company safety policies, lockout/tagout procedures, GMP requirements, and cleanroom protocols.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of maintenance areas, tools, and equipment.
  • Respond to emergency maintenance calls outside of normal scheduled hours, as needed, to support a 24-hour manufacturing operation.
  • Assist with facility maintenance activities including HVAC systems, compressed air systems, water systems, and general building maintenance.
  • Participate in safety training, continuous improvement activities, and cross-functional projects.
  • Work with and maintain relationships with contracted vendors.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and housekeeping.
  • Must follow all safety and PPE requirements and regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Education

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


Required Experience & Competencies

  • 1–3 years of experience in a similar position.
  • Must be able to read and interpret manuals and written instructions as necessary to complete assigned tasks.
  • Proficient in the use of hand and electrical tools.
  • Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and mechanical systems, including relevant equipment and tools.
  • Very good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and time management skills.
