Job DetailsJob Location: TYLER, TX 75701Position Type: Full TimeThe Community Engagement Advisor (CEA) – Mid-Level is a highly relational, self-motivated, confident, results-oriented, front-line fundraiser. The CEA coordinates and manages the cultivation, stewardship, qualification and solicitation of individual donor partners. Using a relationship-based fundraising strategy, the CEA works with a portfolio of mid-level donor partners (giving $1,000 to $4,999 annually) and strategically engages, cultivates, and stewards them. The CEA’s major focus is to deepen relationships with current donor partners who have the capacity to invest more deeply in the mission of the ETFB where it aligns with their passion and interests and help transition a portion of those donors toward major gifts, if they so desire. This will require commitment to occasional non-business hours and regular travel outside the office throughout the service area.   The CEA serves as an extension and ambassador of the East Texas Food Bank (ETFB). The focus of this position is to develop and manage a portfolio of mid-level giving donors by initiating, cultivating, soliciting and stewarding relationships with individuals, couples, and families who partner financially with the East Texas Food Bank. To succeed, the candidate must be an internally compelled self-starter who is highly organized, and willing to take initiative in establishing a long-term, vibrant and engaged connection with a constituency of ETFB supporters. This position reports to the Director of Philanthropy and Engagement (DPE) and works collaboratively with the Food Bank’s program leadership, volunteer services, and other ETFB departments.   POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES & GOALS Cultivates donor relationships by updating, stewarding, and asking donors to deepen their partnership with the ETFB. Solicits and closes gifts from Mid-Level giving donors. Face-to-face visits to select donors for cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship efforts.  Executes strategy through phone, email, and mail communication. Create, execute, and continuously update a contact’s marketing and communication plan for each tier of donors in the caseload that is focused on fulfilling the donor’s interests and passions. Updates the CRM (Salesforce) accurately with call notes and new information about donors. Learns about ETFB programs and projects and effectively communicates the mission to donors. Conducts oneself in a professional, friendly and truthful manner to donors. Researches, identifies, and promotes hand-off of high-capacity donors to the appropriate major gift officer. Manages a portfolio of 400 – 600 donor households. Meets with Individual Giving team on a weekly basis for accountability and to discuss strategy and moves. Assist in planning local donor partner events, varying in scale. Mobilize and accompany donor partners to visit ETFB programs and locations. Provide dynamic and impactful donor tours at all ETFB locations. Attend monthly larger development team meetings, staff meetings, and conference calls. Prepares and delivers customized and strategic presentations that inform and inspire support for ETFB’s values and mission. Helps provide personal acknowledgements for all gifts over $500 and ensure timely and appropriate thank you letters, calls and outreach. Maintain a documented visit schedule and create monthly reports that accurately reflect portfolio activity and performance towards annual goals & KPIs for this position. Act as an Ambassador for ETFB. Other duties as assigned   WORKING CONDITIONS This position can offer a hybrid working environment (working from home and in the office). Bachelor’s Degree required. Other certifications or comparable work experience may be considered in lieu of degree and at the discretion of the ETFB. Experience in local community fundraising with a proven track record of success in 4+ figure gifts or equivalent local one-to-one sales and marketing experience with a high value product or service. Experience in public speaking/presentations. Experience working with nonprofits. Proven ability to establish rapport and trust while collaborating with diverse groups of people and communities.   Skills and Abilities Passionate commitment to ETFB’s mission to fight hunger and feed hope. Exhibits warmth and charm that immediately puts others at ease. Excellent networking ability. Excellent oral, written, and public communication skills. Ability to comfortably tell ETFB’s story and engage audiences. Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and service skills required. Willing to work flexible schedule with occasional work during evenings and weekends required, including travel out of service area for meetings and conferences. Resourceful with a strong work ethic with ability to conduct data-driven research and measure data in relation to major giving growth. Able to work well on multiple projects with minimal supervision. Able to work under pressure and meet CEA deadlines. Natural and optimistic team leader who collaborates with team members. Intermediate skill level in Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and ability to quickly learn new software systems. Experience with Salesforce or other donor database preferred. Strong organizational, analytical, technical, and effective time management skills. Reliable transportation and ability to travel throughout service area up to 50%+.
