About the Position 

Groome Industrial Service Group is seeking motivated individuals to join our team and travel from our Grapeland, TX office to power generation plants. This role involves hands-on training to de-slag large utility boilers using controlled explosives. No prior experience is necessary—just a strong work ethic and willingness to learn. This is a long-term career opportunity with room for advancement. Qualified individuals may have the opportunity to become licensed explosives blasters through our internal training and certification programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Travel to power generation sites as needed
  • Train and operate safely with explosive materials to perform boiler cleaning
  • Work in challenging outdoor and industrial environments
  • Follow strict safety protocols and procedures at all times

What does it take to work for Groome Industrial Service Group? 

  • Must be at least 21 years old with a valid driver's license.
  • No felony or family violence convictions.
  • No DWI convictions in the last 5 years.
  • Ability to lift 90 pounds.
  • High School Diploma / GED Required.
  • Reliable transportation required and must live within an hour of our office.
  • Willingness to be on call 24/7.
  • Must successfully complete a pre-employment physical, drug screen, and background check.
  • Ability to work outside in challenging conditions.
  • Capability to climb ladders and scale multiple flights of stairs.
  • No prior experience necessary.
