Supervisor, 3rd Shift

Work Mode: Onsite

Location: Onsite - Union City, TN  

Opportunity

Supervisor will have the responsibility of directing a group of hourly associates within a specific department.

Responsible for products being manufactured in accordance with established production processes, design and technical specifications; for directing the work force in such a manner as to meet approved production schedules within the budgeted cost; and for enforcing the plant’s employee relations policies and procedures

Specific Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the efforts with Team Leaders through daily and weekly productivity and production reports to ensure maximum efficiency while maintaining quality standards.
  • Determine the performance of raw material in production by observation and inspection at various points in the process and take necessary corrective action to ensure quality standards are maintained.
  • Initiate corrective action, verbally and written, on a daily basis where goals are not being met. Inform Team Leaders of potential problem areas.
  • Through visual inspection of equipment and review of parts usage, production data and down time, determine if preventive maintenance and proper operating procedures are being followed. Take appropriate action as indicated.
  • Ensure thorough review of safety and accident reports, inspection reports and visual observation, that safety requirements are being met.
  • Through periodic meetings with subordinates, assure safety and health matters are communicated and prompt corrective action taken when needed.
  • Determine weekly manpower needs by reviewing workload requirements and initiate appropriate action.
  • Review performance of subordinates against goals and suggest improvements to ensure a full coordinated effort.
  • Recommend to members of upper management promotions, employment, dismissal, or change in compensation of subordinates.
  • Receive and process complaints of all subordinates by reviewing the facts as prescribed by the company policy for discussion and review with upper management.

Skills/Requirements

  • B.S. Degree is required. 
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment with emphasis on high volume, high mix manufacturing process (Glass Fabrication experience a definite asset). Experience in an ISO/world class certified manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Proven project management/cross functional relationship skills
  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing Techniques
  • Analytical and structured approach to problem solving
  • Leadership skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with all members of the organization
