Job Overview

The Groundskeeper will be responsible for maintaining the grounds of property using hand or power tools or equipment.   

Roles & Responsibilities

To perform this job successfully and safely, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  Other duties may be assigned.

• Maintain cleanliness of assigned areas such as sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, fountains, planters, burial sites, or other grounds features

• Make minor repairs to items such as fences, gates, or walls

• Gather, remove, and dispose of trash or waste materials

• Water and irrigate lawns, trees, or plants using portable sprinkler systems

• Use irrigation methods to adjust the amount of water consumption and to prevent waste

• Prune or trim trees, shrubs, or hedges using grounds maintenance equipment

• Mow or edge lawns, using power mowers or edger

• Plant seeds, bulbs, foliage, flowering plants, grass, ground covers, trees, or shrubs and apply mulch for protection, using gardening tools

• Rake, mulch, and compost leaves

• Operate and perform minor repairs on grounds maintenance equipment such as mowers, tractors, twin-axle vehicles, snow blowers, chainsaws, electric clippers, sod cutters, or pruning saws

• Comply with safety rules, policies and procedures including use of personal protective equipment.

• Stops at risk behaviors of others and self

• Respond to trouble calls and cleans up spills

• Communicate with co-workers, management, and customers and advises on plant selection or care

• Provide information about landscaping services or costs

Qualification

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and/ or Experience

High school diploma / GED – preferred

Six months related experience and/or training – preferred

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Completed all safety and task training certifications.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Compensation and Shift:

Monday-Friday 7:00am-3:30pm

$16.00 per hour
