Job Summary

The Early Childhood Learning Center Aide supports the classroom teacher in providing a safe, nurturing, faith-centered, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for young children. The aide assists with daily classroom activities, supervision, care routines, and implementation of the school’s Catholic mission and values.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist the lead teacher with classroom instruction and learning activities
  • Support children’s social, emotional, physical, spiritual, and academic development
  • Supervise students during classroom activities, recess, lunch, nap/rest time, and transitions
  • Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment
  • Prepare classroom materials, learning centers, and instructional supplies
  • Assist with behavior guidance using positive and age-appropriate methods
  • Model Christian values, kindness, respect, and Catholic teachings in daily interactions
  • Support prayer time, religious activities, and participation in school liturgies or faith-based events
  • Help children with personal care needs as appropriate, including toileting, handwashing, and snack/lunch routines
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding students, families, and school matters
  • Communicate professionally with teachers, staff, and parents as directed
  • Follow all diocesan, school, health, and safety policies and procedures
  • Attend required staff meetings, trainings, and professional development sessions

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or coursework in early childhood education preferred
  • Experience working with young children preferred
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and staff
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to supervise and engage children in a caring and positive manner
  • Commitment to supporting the mission and values of Catholic education
  • Completion of required background checks and safe environment training
