EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT – HOTEL OPERATIONS

Blue Sky Hospitality Solutions

Corporate Office | Uniondale, Long Island, New York

65+ Hotels. Multiple Brands. Enterprise-Level Responsibility.

Blue Sky Hospitality Solutions is seeking an accomplished Executive Vice President of Hotel Operations to join our executive leadership team and provide strategic and operational oversight for approximately half of our growing portfolio of 65+ hotels.

This is one of the most senior operational leadership positions within our organization.

The Executive Vice President reports directly to the CEO and serves as the ultimate operational leader, brand expert, strategic advisor, and escalation point for the Regional and Senior Vice Presidents within their assigned portfolio.

Nearly every aspect of hotel performance flows through this role.

We are looking for a seasoned hospitality executive who has spent a career learning this business — ideally beginning at the property level, serving successfully as a General Manager, progressing into multi-property leadership, and ultimately leading large, complex hotel portfolios at the RVP, SVP, or comparable executive level.

This is not a first-time multi-property leadership opportunity.

We need a proven hotel operator.

THE SCOPE

Blue Sky Hospitality Solutions operates a diverse portfolio of 65+ hotels across multiple markets and major hotel brands, including:

Marriott | Hilton | Hyatt | IHG

Our two Executive Vice Presidents divide responsibility for the company's hotel portfolio.

The successful candidate will assume executive oversight of approximately 30+ hotels, with Regional Vice Presidents and Senior Vice Presidents reporting directly into this role based upon portfolio and brand alignment.

The EVP is accountable for the total performance of the assigned portfolio.

That means operations.

Financial performance.

Guest experience.

Brand compliance.

Revenue strategy.

Sales performance.

Capital planning.

Talent and leadership.

Property condition.

Owner expectations.

And ultimately — results.

THE EVP IS THE BRAND EXPERT

Deep multi-brand experience is an absolute requirement.

Our RVPs, SVPs, General Managers, and corporate partners look to the EVP for direction, interpretation, strategy, and decision-making.

The EVP must possess extensive working knowledge of major hotel brands and understand the operational expectations, systems, standards, QA processes, performance metrics, owner dynamics, and brand relationships that come with them.

You will:

  • Serve as a senior company contact with brand leadership.
  • Maintain strong relationships with Marriott, Hilton, Hyatt, IHG, and other brand partners.
  • Guide RVPs and SVPs on brand strategy, standards, compliance, and performance.
  • Lead responses to significant QA, operational, and brand performance concerns.
  • Ensure brand initiatives are translated into effective property-level execution.
  • Support openings, conversions, renovations, PIPs, and brand transitions.
  • Represent Blue Sky professionally and strategically in high-level brand discussions.

Our field leaders should know that when they call their EVP, they are calling one of the most knowledgeable hotel operators in the organization.

LEAD THE LEADERS

You will directly lead and develop our Regional Vice Presidents and Senior Vice Presidents of Operations.

Your role is not to manage 30 General Managers individually.

Your role is to build exceptional senior leaders who know how to lead them.

You will:

  • Establish clear portfolio expectations.
  • Coach and develop RVPs and SVPs.
  • Hold senior leaders accountable for results.
  • Evaluate leadership effectiveness across the portfolio.
  • Guide difficult operational and people decisions.
  • Identify leadership gaps before they become property problems.
  • Build succession plans for critical operational positions.
  • Strengthen the pipeline of future GMs, RVPs, SVPs, and enterprise leaders.
  • Step into complex property situations when executive intervention is required.

The EVP must be equally comfortable coaching a senior leader and holding that leader accountable.

OWN PORTFOLIO PERFORMANCE

The EVP has executive accountability for the financial and operational performance of the assigned portfolio.

You will oversee and challenge performance related to:

  • Revenue
  • RevPAR and market share
  • GOP and profitability
  • Flow-through
  • Labor productivity
  • Forecasting
  • Budget performance
  • Expense management
  • Guest satisfaction
  • Brand scores
  • Quality assurance
  • Property condition
  • Operational efficiency
  • Associate engagement and retention

You will identify underperforming hotels, determine root causes, establish corrective strategies, assign accountability, and ensure sustained improvement.

Knowing that a hotel is underperforming isn't enough.

We expect our EVP to know why — and what we're going to do about it.

COMMERCIAL LEADERSHIP

Hotel operations cannot operate in a silo.

The EVP partners closely with Revenue Management, Sales, Finance, Marketing, and Operations leadership to ensure commercial strategy translates into profitable hotel performance.

You will:

  • Challenge revenue and market-share performance.
  • Evaluate property and portfolio sales strategies.
  • Partner with Revenue Management on pricing, segmentation, pace, and demand strategy.
  • Ensure Operations and Sales are aligned.
  • Review competitive positioning and market opportunities.
  • Hold teams accountable for translating commercial strategy into measurable results.

The EVP understands that occupancy alone doesn't define success — profitable revenue does.

CAPITAL EXPENDITURES & ASSET PERFORMANCE

The EVP plays a significant leadership role in CapEx planning and execution across the assigned portfolio.

Working closely with ownership, Finance, CapEx, Engineering, RVPs, SVPs, and property leadership, you will:

  • Evaluate property capital priorities.
  • Participate in annual and long-range CapEx planning.
  • Oversee significant renovation and improvement projects.
  • Monitor property condition and preventive maintenance.
  • Ensure capital dollars are aligned with operational priorities.
  • Support brand PIPs and renovation requirements.
  • Evaluate asset risks and deferred maintenance.
  • Protect the long-term condition and value of the hotels we manage.

You must be able to walk a hotel and understand both what the guest sees today and what the asset will need tomorrow.

OWNER & EXECUTIVE PARTNERSHIP

The EVP serves as a trusted senior advisor to the CEO and executive leadership team.

You will provide clear, concise, fact-based insight regarding:

  • Portfolio performance
  • Operational risk
  • Financial opportunities
  • Leadership effectiveness
  • Property challenges
  • Brand relationships
  • Capital requirements
  • Growth opportunities
  • Strategic priorities

You must be comfortable presenting difficult information, recommending decisive action, and standing behind your recommendations.

The EVP also represents Blue Sky with ownership groups and other key stakeholders and must be able to balance brand requirements, owner expectations, guest experience, associate needs, and financial performance.

OPERATIONAL EXCELLENCE

Our EVP doesn't lead exclusively from a spreadsheet or corporate office.

You must understand what is happening inside the hotels.

You will maintain visibility across the portfolio, visit properties, evaluate operating conditions, engage leadership teams, identify gaps, and ensure corporate strategy is actually being executed in the field.

You must have deep operational knowledge across:

Rooms | Housekeeping | Front Office | Food & Beverage | Engineering | Sales | Revenue | Finance | Safety | Human Resources | Guest Experience | Capital Planning

You don't need to perform every function.

But you need to understand how every function impacts hotel performance.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for someone who has built a career in hotel operations.

The ideal candidate brings:

  • 20+ years of progressive hospitality leadership experience strongly preferred.
  • Significant experience as a successful full-service hotel General Manager.
  • Multiple years of multi-property leadership experience.
  • Current or previous experience at the RVP, SVP, EVP, COO, or comparable senior operations level within a hotel management organization.
  • Demonstrated responsibility for a significant portfolio of hotels.
  • Extensive multi-brand experience.
  • Deep experience with major brands including Marriott, Hilton, Hyatt, and/or IHG.
  • Experience across both full-service and select-service hotels.
  • Proven P&L and portfolio financial leadership.
  • Extensive experience working with hotel ownership groups.
  • Strong brand relationships and knowledge of franchise operations.
  • Experience overseeing CapEx, renovations, PIPs, conversions, and/or hotel openings.
  • Demonstrated success developing senior operational leaders.
  • Strong commercial understanding across Sales and Revenue Management.
  • Exceptional executive communication and decision-making skills.
  • Ability and willingness to travel extensively throughout the portfolio.

Third-Party Hotel Management Company Experience Strongly Preferred

Experience within a multi-property, multi-brand hotel management company comparable to Blue Sky Hospitality Solutions is highly desirable.

Candidates whose careers have been primarily limited to single-property leadership without significant multi-property executive responsibility will not have the breadth of experience required for this position.

THE LEADERSHIP PROFILE

We're looking for an executive who is:

Strategic enough to advise the CEO.

Operational enough to walk into a hotel and immediately recognize what isn't working.

Financially sophisticated enough to challenge a P&L.

Commercial enough to challenge Revenue and Sales strategy.

Experienced enough to guide an RVP.

Decisive enough to address underperformance.

Credible enough to represent Blue Sky with our brands and ownership partners.

And most importantly:

Experienced enough to know the difference between managing hotels and leading a hotel company.

WHY BLUE SKY?

Blue Sky Hospitality Solutions is a growing, multi-brand hotel management organization with 65+ properties across the United States.

This position offers something few hospitality roles can:

The opportunity to directly influence the performance of an entire hotel portfolio.

You will sit at the table with the CEO and executive leadership team, lead senior operational executives, work directly with major global hotel brands, and have significant influence over how our hotels operate, perform, grow, and evolve.

This is a highly visible role with significant responsibility — and significant opportunity to make an impact.
