Position Summary
Members of this class perform general maintenance duties inside and on the grounds of Lafayette Manor. Basic general maintenance tasks include mowing, and basic outdoor repairs, as well as trash pickup and hauling, periodic cleaning of the ventilation system, assist with all major and minor repairs to electrical systems, plumbing and physical plant. Repairs include laundry, kitchen and boiler room. Assists with new equipment installation and preventative maintenance programs.
General Purpose
Maintains the functioning of the facilities at Lafayette Manor through basic and general repairs. Mows, removes weeds and trash outdoors. Removes snow and ice. Repairs commercial lawn equipment. Indoors, picks up trash, performs preventive maintenance, cleans ducts and vents. Must be familiar with plumbing, electrical, this individual gets assignments via work orders and is supervised by the Maintenance Manager.
PositionResponsibilities
EXAMPLES OF WORK:
*Provides grounds maintenance including mowing, trimming, weeding, snow removal at Lafayette Manor.
*Make repairs on commercial lawn equipment;
*Completes minor repairs such as changing light bulbs and fixing minor leaks;
*Cleans Lafayette Manor vehicles and lawn equipment;
*Assists Maintenance Workers with projects, such as ceiling tile replacement and servicing
large systems; HVAC, Boilers, laundry equipment, kitchen equipment and resident equipment.
*Assists with moving equipment as requested.
*Any and all other duties as assigned by Department Director, Assistant Director, Lead Maintenance Worker or Maintenance Technician.
*Have ability to manage stress tolerance, pressure and anxiety
Essential Knowledge, Skills and Ability
High school diploma or equivalent. Ability to read and write English. Ability to lift 75 pounds. Basic knowledge of lawn care, repair of commercial lawn equipment and basic power tools. Ability to understand basic oral and written directions in English. Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical and working in a commercial building and a long term care facility. Familiarity with snow removal equipment: blowers, blades and tractors. Should have mechanical capability. Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions. Must have valid PA driver's license. Must be able to work holidays and weekends as scheduled.
ACCEPTABLE EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING: Ability to read and write English. Ability to lift 75 pounds. Knowledge of basic lawn and snow removal equipment. Valid PA driver’s license. Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
