At Altruix, you'll do more than fill prescriptions. You'll help improve the lives of patients with behavioral health and intellectual & developmental disabilities (I/DD) by ensuring they receive the medications they need, when they need them.


As a Patient Care Coordinator (PCC) Pharmacy Technician, you'll work directly with patients, providers, and healthcare teams to coordinate medications, navigate insurance processes, perform data entry, and deliver an exceptional patient experience.

This is a full-time, onsite position working Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with a 30-minute unpaid break.


Monday through Thursday, you will begin your workday at our Uniontown Long-Term Care Pharmacy, where you will clock in, collect the medications needed for the day, and pick up a company-provided vehicle. You will then travel to Crossroads Treatment Center of Johnstown, located at 132 Walnut Street, Johnstown, PA 15901, to support patients and clinic staff throughout the day.


At approximately 3:00 PM, you will leave the Crossroads facility and return to the Uniontown pharmacy to return the company vehicle and complete your workday. All required travel time between Uniontown and Johnstown is compensated.


On Fridays, you will report directly to the Uniontown Long-Term Care Pharmacy and work onsite there for the full day.


The company vehicle is provided for required travel between Uniontown and Johnstown and will remain at the Uniontown pharmacy. It is not a take-home vehicle.

What You'll Do

  • Report to the Uniontown pharmacy Monday through Thursday to retrieve medications and pick up the company vehicle before traveling to Johnstown.
  • Provide onsite pharmacy support at Crossroads Treatment Center of Johnstown.
  • Meet and build relationships with patients, providers, and clinic staff.
  • Perform prescription and patient data entry and maintain accurate patient records.
  • Coordinate medication orders from intake through fulfillment.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for patients, providers, and healthcare facilities.
  • Support prior authorizations, insurance verification, and benefits investigations.
  • Track and follow up on pending prescriptions and required documentation.
  • Communicate with providers to resolve prescription questions and ensure timely access to medications.
  • Provide exceptional customer service through daily interactions with patients, providers, and care teams.
  • Collaborate with pharmacists and teammates to coordinate patient care.
  • Assist with medication fulfillment, packaging, labeling, inventory, returns, and other pharmacy operations as needed.
  • Work onsite at the Uniontown Long-Term Care Pharmacy every Friday.


Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Active Pennsylvania Pharmacy Technician registration or active Pennsylvania Pharmacy Technician Trainee registration.
  • Previous pharmacy, healthcare, or medical office experience.
  • Data entry experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong communication, organization, and customer service skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Basic computer proficiency and willingness to learn pharmacy software.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to safely operate a company vehicle for required travel between Uniontown and Johnstown.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Long-term care or specialty pharmacy experience.
  • Prior authorization or insurance verification experience.
  • Experience with pharmacy management systems.
  • National Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT).
