POSITION SPECIFICS

Join the College of the Liberal Arts as an Administrative Assistant for the English for Professional Purposes Intercultural Center (EPPIC), which supports international students and scholars in developing advanced English communication skills, and the Rock Ethics Institute, a nationally recognized center for interdisciplinary ethics research and public engagement.

The Administrative Assistant plays an important role in creating a welcoming environment while supporting programs, events, communications, and daily operations across two dynamic units.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Administrative Operations

  • Provide front-office support, including greeting visitors and responding to phone calls and emails

  • Support daily operations such as managing office supplies and submitting expense reports

  • Schedule team meetings

Event and Program Support

  • Promote various events by creating and printing flyers and updating shared calendars and websites with event information

  • Handle participant registration and room reservations

  • Track feedback surveys from participants

  • The majority of the events this position will assist with include workshops, trainings, speaker events, and conference exhibits

Communications and Outreach

  • Maintain center websites, social media accounts, and mailing lists

  • Support Directors and Department Heads by designing and producing print and digital marketing publications

This position works across both EPPIC and the Rock Ethics Institute, spending time in each unit's office throughout the week.

Working across both units, the Administrative Assistant will interact regularly with students, scholars, faculty, staff, and visitors from a variety of backgrounds and disciplines.

  • Ability to stay organized with a high attention to detail and accuracy while multi-tasking

  • Driven to provide excellent customer service

  • Demonstrated professionalism, discretion, and sound judgment when handling confidential information and working independently or collaboratively

  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and adapt to changing needs

Applicants must also have experience with core Microsoft Office 365 applications, particularly Outlook, Word, and Excel.

 

MINIMUM EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE & REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS

General Equivalency Diploma (GED) or High School (HS)
