Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Responsible for equipment reliability through sound maintenance practices including cost-effective preventative and predictive maintenance and lubrication programs. Ensure that programs and repairs are prioritized and completed on a timely basis so that production objectives are met. Implement quality improvement and cost reduction ideas.
  • Plan, schedule, and monitor the timely completion of Maintenance work orders. Review job orders to determine work priorities. Ensure efficient work execution on daily assignments, area shutdowns and on all maintenance projects. Set priorities and coordinate Maintenance department activities and assignments. Responsible for daily maintenance, repairs, and upgrades to converting and corrugated equipment. 
  • Oversee and perform general facility maintenance tasks, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and building repairs.
  • Replace worn or damaged machine parts and components, such as belts, rollers, motors, and sensors.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and others.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including repairs, parts replacements, and preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Monitor and manage spare parts inventory to ensure the availability of critical components.
  • Provide coaching, training, development, and leadership of hourly Maintenance employees in a high-performance work team environment. Ensure Maintenance employees understand and can troubleshoot all jobs and are fully trained on mechanical repairs, equipment use, adjustments, and unique situations.
  • Collaborate with the production team to address any machine-related issues and provide guidance on equipment use and maintenance. Report to Maintenance Manager and Plant Manager any information that may impede the operation of the plant as soon as it becomes known.

 

Work Environment / Physical Demands  

  • Fast paced environment, requiring adaptation to continuous changes in Company, Customer and People needs.
  • Ability to frequently sit, stand, walk, reach with hands and arm’s length, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, and crouch.
  • Ability to regularly lift up to 20 lbs. frequently 20-35 lbs. occasionally, more than 35 lbs. rarely, over 50 lbs. requires team or mechanical assistance
  • Ability to travel up to 5% of the time. 
  • Ability to work at least 95% of the time on site

  • MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams) 
  • Maintain and operate measurement equipment.

 Qualifications 

 Education & Experience     

  • Associate's degree in industrial engineering or electrical engineering or equivalent experience
  • 4+ years of experience
  • 3-5 years of supervisory experience in a maintenance role
  • Proven experience in industrial machine maintenance, preferably in a manufacturing setting
  • Electrical experience (PLC reading, diagnosis)
  • OSHA 10
  • OSHA 30
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Safety-conscious with a commitment to following safety guidelines.
  • Strong knowledge of maintenance principles and practices. 

Preferred Qualifications  

  • Union experience
  • Understanding of packaging design principles and industry standards.
  • Familiarity with corrugator machine functions and components.
  • In-depth understanding of machine functions, including corrugating, heating, gluing, and cutting processes. 
  • Proficiency in reading equipment manuals and blueprints.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Experience in corrugated, strongly preferred. 
  • A genuine, positive, and friendly disposition 
  • In-depth knowledge of various board types, board specifications, and packaging types.
