COMPENSATION:

 

RATES STARTING AT $18.00-$21.00/hour (based on experience)

2nd shift, Monday - Friday (2:00pm - 10:30pm)

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB:

 

The Molding Manufacturing Operator III is senior-level position responsible for the proper setup, handling, and removal of production jobs including molds and auxiliary equipment.

 

 

MAIN JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Treat employees with dignity and respect.
  • ATTENDANCE IS PARAMOUNT. All associates are required to report to their scheduled shift on time and work their entire shift.
  • Maintain a professional attitude towards coworkers and company.  
  • Clean assigned workstations. 
  • Operate machines maintaining productivity, efficiency and product quality.
  • Put safety first. Ensure employees are working safely and all safety measures and procedures are being met and followed.  Including good housekeeping.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures.
  • Perform visual inspection to ensure all products meet quality standards.
  • Reporting of data (i.e scrap report) and coordinate with process technicians for product deficiencies.
  • Separate parts from runners by visually examining for: flow lines, long gates, shorts, splaying, flash, etc. As needed, trim and clip excess plastic from parts.
  • Retrieve part bins under injection molding machines, inspect per inspection criteria.
  • Package parts in bags, totes or boxes as applicable.
  • Complete paperwork accurately that is acceptable under GMP standards.
  • Be flexible and act in a manner that promotes teamwork.
  • Operators also pack and pull samples for customers/QC.  
  • Meets regularly with the Supervisor Operations to obtain direction and priority for the shift.
  • Communicates with the Machine Operator 3 and 4 from other shifts to ensure a smooth transition at shift changeover.
  • Performs mold setups requiring hydraulic and electrical connections while conforming to company procedures.
  • Installs auxiliary equipment (robotics, conveyors, part chutes, thermolators, etc.) as needed to complete proper setup.
  • Notifies Supervisor Operations 1 of mold or equipment repair needed to complete setup.
  • Maintains hand tool and setup supplies in good condition.
  • Complies with all company safety and housekeeping policies, rules and regulations.
  • Makes and documents machine adjustments as specifically instructed by the Supervisor Operations.
  • Monitors molding machine processes to ensure ATM production and quality standards are met.
  • Performs molding machine startups if machine molding process has already been set. Startup per company procedures
  • Maintains manufacturing records as required by procedures as Event Logs and Process
  • Complies with all departmental policies, procedures and work instructions relevant to the Manufacturing Department.
  • Makes recommendations regarding opportunities to improve methods, processes, and procedures which could benefit the company.
  • May be requested to direct shift manufacturing personnel in the absence of the Supervisor Operations.
  • Performs as a Material Handler when required.
  • Relieves Machine Operators for breaks and lunch when required.
  • Other duties as assigned needed to help drive our Vision, Mission, and Values.

 

EXPECTATION:

 

  • Develop skills to perform basic, repetitive and manual activities in the job.
  • Use existing procedures to solve straightforward problems.
  • Master all requirements of Operator I in order to advance to Operator II.  

 

REQUIREMENTS:

 

Education/Certification

 

  • High School Diploma or equivalent)

 

EXPERIENCE:

 

  • Must be 18 years of age
  • No experience necessary 

 

SKILLS/ COMPETENCIES:

 

  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to work as a team
  • Ability to do repetitive work
  • Ability to read, understand and follow specification sheets
  • Basic mathematical skills to understand variation
  • Ability to use measuring devices and hand tools

  

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

 

  • Light work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or lift, carry, push, pull, or move objects.
  • Excellent vision & hand-eye coordination
  • Extended periods of bending, lifting, standing, and sitting
  • Significant use of hands
  • Frequently required to lift up to 30 lbs
  • Must be able and willing to wear personal protective equipment as required including:
    • Protective eyewear
    • Hair net
    • Protective gowning (lab coat, hood)
