Crating Technician

A Crating Technician will assemble curtain wall crates for units and sub-assemblies. Move completed units from the assembly line and crate them together for storage or shipment.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Constructing crates for shipping product safely and securely.
• Preparing shipment according to procedures, including shrink wrapping, to ensure maximum protection during transport.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety laws, regulations, and company best practices.
• Perform a daily clean-up of the assigned work area and return tools to storage at the end of each shift.
• Other tasks as specified by supervisors and managers.

Skills and Abilities:

• Must be able to read, interpret, and follow assembly drawings (“blueprints”).
• Perform job using hands and arms to operate small power tools.
• Must bend, stoop, lift, and stand for 8 hours and possess good visual acuity.
• Candidate must be flexible while performing job duties in an environment that can be fast-paced.

Physical Requirements:

• Applicants must be able to perform repetitive lifting and other physically demanding tasks.
• Move equipment weighing 50 pounds at a time.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Related experience preferred.
