Description:

Birch Agency is seeking Radiation Therapist to join our team!

The Radiation Therapist administers prescribed radiation treatments to patients using specialized equipment such as linear accelerators. The role involves patient positioning, treatment planning collaboration, safety monitoring, and providing compassionate care throughout the treatment process.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Explain treatment procedures and answer patient questions.
Position patients accurately using immobilization devices and imaging guidance.
Monitor patients during treatment for adverse reactions.
Provide emotional support and maintain patient confidentiality.
Administer radiation therapy as prescribed by the radiation oncologist.
Use imaging tools (CT, MRI, X-ray) to verify treatment positioning.
Record and verify treatment parameters.
Follow radiation safety protocols to protect patients, self, and staff.
Ensure accurate dosage and documentation.
Work closely with radiation oncologists, medical physicists, and dosimetrists.
Participate in treatment planning sessions.
Communicate patient concerns to the oncology team.
Ensure compliance with electronic medical record (EMR) standards.

Required Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Radiation Therapy.
Completion of an accredited radiation therapy program.
Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiation Therapy (RT(T)).
State licensure.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
