Description

Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking a Power Distribution Engineer I to join our team. The role is primarily responsible for the cost-effective conceptual and engineering solutions to upgrade, expand, maintain, and automate overhead and underground power distribution systems for our clients using various software systems and engineering/construction standards. The role ensures compliance with client procedures, design standards, state and federal regulatory requirements and safety code requirements. They will execute projects under the lead of a Senior Engineer and will work closely with engineers performing substation, distribution, transmission, renewable energy, power storage, and communication designs. Westwood has a highly experienced and dynamic team of individuals dedicated to providing high-level professional services to our clients.

Requirements

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the design and development of engineering/design projects.
  • Create and modify engineering/design drawings and ensure that all engineering work complies with industry standards and regulations.
  • Safely and accurately conduct field walkdowns to obtain accurate information for designs.
  • Prepare technical documentation.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to project planning and execution.
  • Assist in troubleshooting and resolving engineering issues as they arise.
  • Engage in continuous learning to enhance technical skills and knowledge.
  • Seek mentorship and guidance from senior engineers to develop professionally.

Required Skills:

  • 0-1yrs experience w/ B.S in an Engineering Discipline from an ABET accredited university.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other Windows-based programs


Preferred:

  • Exceptional problem solving skills
  • Ability to interpret data and solve problems
