CBH Medical is actively hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) for a full-time position at Prince George's County Correctional Center. About the role

  • CBH Medical is looking to directly hire a Registered Nurse for the medical department at Prince George's County Correctional Center. Corrections experience is a plus. We offer competitive wages, great benefits, and much more!

What you'll do

  • Assess the physical, psychological, and social needs of patients and provide written assessments upon admission, during confinement, and at discharge
  • Obtain health histories, summarize assessment data, and make triage decisions that are documented and communicated to the care team
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment programs utilizing approved protocols as directed by the Medical Director
  • Administer medications using proper techniques including IV therapy and all other approved routes; obtain diagnostic tests per physician orders
  • Implement nutrition and therapeutic diet plans as ordered and refer patients to appropriate providers as needed
  • Document all nursing encounters using SOAP charting and communicate effectively with nursing staff, physicians, correctional officers, and department heads
  • Provide leadership to nursing staff, identify problems, and recommend improvements in patient care, procedures, and equipment
  • Participate in quality assurance chart reviews, in-service education, and support all OSHA and employee safety programs
  • Perform within the limits of the state practice act, Code of Ethics for Nurses, and all CBH Medical policies and procedures
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications

  • Currently licensed Registered Nurse in the state where duties are performed (Required)
  • BLS/CPR Certification (Required)
  • Graduate of an accredited registered nursing program; Baccalaureate degree preferred but not required
  • Minimum two years of clinical experience
  • Corrections experience a plus

Job Type: Full-time (8 Hour Shifts)

  • Day: 7:30am-4pm
  • Evening: 3:30pm-12am
  • Night: 11:30pm-8am
