JOB SUMMARY: The Senior Continuous Improvement Engineer is responsible for independently identifying, prioritizing, and executing high-impact improvement initiatives across manufacturing and business operations. This role serves as a senior Lean and Six Sigma practitioner focused on delivering measurable improvements in safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and cost. The Senior Continuous Improvement Engineer partners with operational leaders to identify opportunities, lead cross-functional projects, facilitate organizational change, and achieve sustainable operational and financial results. Success in this role is measured by the identification, execution, and sustainment of improvement initiatives that generate measurable operational and financial impact.Ā 


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS (COMPETENCIES):Ā 

• Lead complex Lean, Six Sigma, and Operational Excellence projects from opportunity identification through implementation and sustainmentĀ 

• Develop and maintain a pipeline of improvement initiatives aligned with business objectives and cost reduction targetsĀ 

• Identify, quantify, and achieve measurable cost savings through waste elimination, process optimization, and productivity improvementĀ 

• Facilitate Kaizen events, Value Stream Mapping activities, and cross-functional problem-solving effortsĀ 

• Apply Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies including 6S, SMED, Standard Work, Visual Management, DMAIC, A3, 8D, PDCA, SPC, and DOEĀ 

• Analyze workflows, labor utilization, capacity, material flow, inventory, and operational performance to identify improvement opportunitiesĀ 

• Develop business cases, validate financial benefits, and communicate project results to leadershipĀ 

• Establish controls, metrics, and standard work to sustain improvements, mentor continuous improvement engineers, and coach employees in continuous improvement methodologiesĀ 

• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Business Operations to achieve improvement objectivesĀ 

• Assist in audit, compliance, and regulatory-related efforts as necessaryĀ 

• Ensure adherence to safety, health, and environmental policies in all process improvementsĀ 

• Attend training as needed or assignedĀ 

• Perform other duties and special projects as assignedĀ 


REQUIREMENTS:Ā 

• Bachelor’s degree in industrial, mechanical, manufacturing engineering, engineering technology, operations management, or related field preferred. Associate degree required.Ā 

• 6 years of experience in manufacturing, industrial engineering, process improvement, continuous improvement, operational excellence, or similar technical fieldĀ 

• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification required; Black Belt certification preferredĀ 

• Minimum 2 completed DMAIC or CI projects that demonstrate history of independently leading improvement projects and delivering measurable operational and financial resultsĀ 

• Proven experience identifying, quantifying, and achieving cost savings through Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Operational Excellence initiativesĀ 

• Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, and Six Sigma methodologiesĀ 

• Experience with time studies, line balancing, capacity analysis, OEE improvement, material flow optimization, inventory reduction, and productivity improvement preferredĀ 

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Minitab, Visio, Power BI, and other process improvement softwareĀ 

• Advanced analytical, project management, facilitation, organizational, and presentation skillsĀ 

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organizationĀ 

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage multiple prioritiesĀ 

• Willingness to develop an understanding of Indium Corporation products and servicesĀ 

• Provide own source of transportation for any local/day travel, including travel between Indium Corporation facilities

The salary range indicated in this posting represents the minimum and maximum of the range for the position. The actual range will vary based upon factors including, but not limited to, prior experience, knowledge, skill and education as they relate to the position’s qualifications, and internal equity.
