Surgery Scheduler / Wood County Urology / Full TimeIn accordance with the mission of Wood Health Company, LLC, the Practice Surgery Scheduler oversees the day-to-day operations in his/her practice for the coordination of surgery scheduling, prior authorizations referrals, insurance verification, assures that all medical exams, testing and follow-up are in coordinated and completed as directed by the provider. Effectively plans surgical patients by coordinating surgery and clinical activities to achieve patient and provider satisfaction.Essential Functions:
- Follow policies and procedures related to as patient scheduling, registration, billing, authorizations and surgical scheduling processes.
- Coordinates surgical schedule processes related to billing, referrals and authorizations in order to provide a quality patient care service and billable service to the patient
- Coordinates patient care services in order to obtain surgical clearance
- Insures and verifies the collection of accurate and adequate patient and insurance information.
- Enters demographics and charges accordingly, codes surgical procedures using ICD10 diagnosis and CPT coding as documented and approved by the provider.
- Monitor practice adherence to the credit and collection policies and procedures.
- Insures compliance with point-of-service collection policies and procedures to maintain acceptable cash collections.
- Maintains open communication with hospital departments, referring physicians, staff physicians and employees.
- Responds in a timely manner to resolve patient complaints
- Manages surgical case loads timely while processing patients through specific patient criteria to obtain surgical clearance
- Assists and supports manager with data collection as required
Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited college program or certificate program.
- In lieu of formal education, a high school graduate with a minimum of two years' experience in a medical office or industry preferred.
Preferred:
- Surgical specialty experience preferred.
