As a Cook, you’ll help nourish patients, staff, and visitors with meals that meet both clinical standards and comforting tastes. We’re looking for someone who takes pride in their food, pays attention to detail, and thrives in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Your skills will directly impact the healing process for those we serve. What You’ll Do: Prepare hot meals, cold items, baked goods, and therapeutic diet options using UMH-standard recipes Ensure meals are plated correctly and delivered on time to patients, staff, and visitors Maintain cleanliness and food safety throughout kitchen operations Follow HACCP procedures and assist with temperature logs, sanitation, and inventory Collaborate with dietitians and kitchen staff to meet modified diet needs Support catering for events and assist with deliveries as needed What You’ll Bring: Experience: Previous experience in healthcare or institutional food prep preferred Education: High school diploma or GED preferred Certification: Food Handler’s Certification (required) Skills: Strong organizational abilities, a team mindset, and excellent customer service Physical Requirements: Able to stand for long periods, lift occasionally, and work efficiently in a busy kitchen Why Join UMH?
