Position Summary
Nexen is seeking a strategic, creative, and results-oriented Marketing Manager to lead all marketing initiatives across the organization. Reporting to the Vice President of Sales, this individual serves as the company's primary marketing professional and is responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive marketing strategy that supports business growth, brand awareness, customer engagement, product promotion, lead generation, and talent acquisition.
Reporting to the Vadnais Heights office, this role supports all business operations throughout North America and collaborates with teams supporting customers and distribution partners globally. The Marketing Manager works closely with Sales, Engineering, Product Development, Customer Service, and Human Resources to ensure marketing initiatives align with organizational objectives and market opportunities.
The ideal candidate is equally comfortable developing long-term strategy and executing day-to-day marketing activities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Capable of collaboration and highly adaptable to change.


Key Responsibilities
Strategic Marketing Leadership
  • Develop and execute the company's annual marketing strategy, goals, and budget.
  • Align marketing initiatives with corporate growth objectives, new product development, and market expansion opportunities.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate marketing effectiveness and return on investment.
  • Analyze market trends, customer needs, competitive activity, and industry developments to identify opportunities for growth.

Product Marketing & Manufacturing Support
  • Partner with Engineering and Product Development teams to translate technical product features into compelling customer-focused value propositions.
  • Develop technical marketing materials including brochures, product catalogs, application guides, case studies, videos, and customer success stories.
  • Collaborate with Engineering to communicate product innovations and technical capabilities to distributors, OEMs, and end users.

Digital Marketing & Lead Generation
  • Manage company website content, optimization, and overall digital presence.
  • Develop and execute inbound and outbound marketing campaigns designed to increase brand visibility and generate qualified sales leads.
  • Oversee digital advertising, email marketing, social media, and content marketing initiatives.

CRM & Lead Management
  • Administer and optimize CRM systems to support sales and marketing objectives.
  • Manage lead routing, lead nurturing, and automation processes to improve lead conversion and customer engagement.
  • Develop dashboards and reporting tools that provide actionable insights into marketing performance and sales pipeline activity.
  • Analyze lead, opportunity, and pipeline data to measure effectiveness and support business growth initiatives.

Trade Shows & Customer Engagement
  • Assist with trade shows, customer events, distributor meetings, and industry conferences.
  • Coordinate exhibit materials, product demonstrations, promotional campaigns, and event logistics.
  • Work closely with Sales to maximize lead generation and customer engagement opportunities before, during, and after events.

Global Marketing Support
  • Support marketing activities for North American and Global markets.
  • Coordinate with international sales representatives, distributors, and partners to ensure marketing programs align with regional business objectives.
  • Adapt marketing materials and campaigns to support international growth initiatives where appropriate.

Employer Branding & Internal Communication
  • Partner with Human Resources to strengthen Nexen's employer brand and support talent acquisition efforts.
  • Assist with developing content that promotes company culture, career opportunities, employee achievements, and workplace initiatives.
  • Assist with employee communications and programs that support engagement and organizational culture.
  • Coordinate, monitor, and manage company trademarks and legal requirements. Includes tracking renewal dates.
  • Monitoring and managing a Branding document, including all rules for Logo, font and other key brand protection requirements.

Qualifications
Required Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
  • Five or more years of progressive marketing experience, preferably within manufacturing, industrial, automation, motion control, engineered products, or technical B2B environments.
  • Demonstrated success developing and executing comprehensive marketing programs that drive business results.
  • Experience managing multiple priorities and projects independently.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience marketing industrial, mechanical, automation, power transmission, motion control, or technical engineered products.
  • Experience supporting distributor networks, OEM customers, or global sales organizations.
