Job Summary:Ā
We are seeking anĀ Experienced Ski Lift Electrical TechnicianĀ to join our lift maintenance team. This position is ideal for someone with an extensive understanding of electrical systems who is ready to learn and grow in a hands-on mountain operations environment. The successful candidate will be hired into anĀ Intermediate or Advanced roleĀ based on experience, technicalĀ proficiency, and leadership ability. This position plays a key role in ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of all aerial and surface lift systems across the resort.Ā

Job Responsibilities:Ā

Perform routine inspections and maintenance of lift electrical systems, including motors, drives, sensors, and control panelsāÆĀ

Troubleshooting of electrical and electronic issues and guiding/mentoring others while performing workĀ Ā
-
Understanding of electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and manufacturer service manualsāÆĀ
-
Maintain lift safety systems, communication lines, and warning systemsĀ Ā
-
Ensure proper documentation of all maintenance and repair activitiesĀ
-
Ensure completion of required inspections and tests in the requiredĀ time frameāÆĀ
-
Work closely with lift operations and maintenance teams to support daily lift readinessĀ
-
Follow all safety protocols, lockout/tagout procedures, and regulatory standardsāÆĀ
-
Participate in training to gain knowledge of ANSI B77.1 standards, OSHA regulations, local regulations and Vail Resorts safety standards,Ā policiesĀ and proceduresāÆĀ

Lead andĀ assistĀ with off-season maintenance projects, testing, and system upgradesĀ

Lead or coordinate lift maintenance tasks and seasonal overhaulsāÆĀ

Perform advanced diagnostics and repairs of drive systems and lift controlsāÆĀ

Mentor and train Entry Level TechniciansĀ

Lead lift modifications, retrofits, or new installationsāÆĀ

Provide input for maintenance planning and compliance trackingāÆĀ

Participate in team safety meetings and contribute to continuous improvement effortsĀ

Job Requirements:Ā

2-5+ years of experience working on electrical systems and ideally controls and automation systemsĀ

Fundamental understanding of electrical theory, components, and safety practicesāÆĀ

Mechanical aptitude and willingness to work with both mechanical and electrical systemsāÆĀ
-
Comfortable working outdoors in alpine weather and at heightsāÆĀ
-
Comfortable using tools like a snowmobile or vehicle to navigate across mountain environmentāÆĀ
-
Able to lift and carry 50 poundsāÆĀ
-
Able to follow instructions and communicate effectively with all team membersāÆĀ
-
Must have or ability to obtain a valid US driverās licenseāÆĀ

Intermediate ski/snowboard ability preferredĀ
Job Requirements Preferred for Advanced-Level Applicants:āÆĀ

5+ years of experience working on manufacturing or controls and automation systems and diagnosing issues in these systemsĀ

PLC software logic programming and troubleshooting experienceĀ

Experience using electrical tools such as Multimeter, Oscilloscope, Motor Insulation Tester, Thermal Camera,Ā etc.Ā Ā Ā
