COFFEE BAR ATTENDANT

We are seeking a Coffee Bar Attendant to join our Gorsuch family. About the Role:

As a Coffee Bar Attendant at Gorsuch Ski Cafe & Coffee Bar, you will play a vital role in delivering an exceptional customer experience by preparing and serving high-quality coffee and related beverages. Your primary focus will be to ensure that every guest receives prompt, friendly, and efficient service in a welcoming environment. You will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the coffee bar area, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards. This role requires a passion for coffee, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced retail setting. Ultimately, your contribution will help foster customer loyalty and support the overall success of the coffee bar within the retail trade industry.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a customer service or food and beverage role is preferred but not mandatory.
• Basic knowledge of coffee preparation and equipment operation.
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with customers and team members.
• Capability to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Legal eligibility to work in the location specified.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Barista certification or formal training in coffee preparation.
• Experience working in a fast-paced retail or hospitality environment.
• Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems and cash handling procedures.
• Strong interpersonal skills and a friendly, approachable demeanor.
• Knowledge of health and safety standards related to food service.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and serve a variety of coffee drinks and beverages according to established recipes and customer preferences.
• Greet customers warmly, take orders accurately, and provide recommendations when requested.
• Operate coffee machines, grinders, and other equipment safely and efficiently.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the coffee bar, including washing utensils, cleaning surfaces, and restocking supplies.
• Handle cash and electronic payments accurately and process transactions promptly.
• Adhere to all food safety, hygiene, and health regulations to ensure a safe environment for customers and staff.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth daily operations and excellent customer service.

Skills:

The required skills such as effective communication and basic coffee preparation are essential for engaging with customers and delivering quality beverages consistently. Attention to detail ensures that each drink meets the coffee bar’s standards and that the workspace remains clean and organized. Physical stamina is necessary to manage the demands of standing and moving throughout shifts. Preferred skills like barista certification and POS system familiarity enhance efficiency and service quality, allowing the attendant to handle transactions smoothly and contribute to a positive customer experience. Together, these skills enable the Coffee Bar Attendant to maintain high operational standards and foster a welcoming atmosphere for all patrons.

Compensation and Benefits: 

The anticipated base salary range for this position is between $18 - $22 hourly +tips. The rate of pay may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
