As one of the largest woven textile mills in the world, Valdese Weavers designs and manufactures residential and contract-grade fabrics for furniture manufacturers, fabric distributors, and large retailers. 2nd and 3rd shift do receive a shift premium of $1.00. We offer a $50 attendance bonus for every two weeks in which you miss no time, not including our shutdown periods. This bonus would provide an extra $0.62 to your hourly rate.  Job Summary: To ensure proper mixture of dyes and chemicals  Essential Functions: Perform the following duties according to ISO 9001 work instructions and standards: Know and wear all protective equipment according to the specific SDS for the chemical(s) being used. Verify that the proper formula is in the drugroom. Weigh and mix correct dyes and chemicals properly in the correct mixing tank. Stage all dyes and chemicals and have them ready to add at prescribed times to ensure smooth production on all machines. Open new drums of dyes and chemicals, as needed, on each shift. Refill dry chemical bins on each shift. Rinse properly and remove empty dye and chemical drums to the proper area each shift. Clean mixing tanks each shift. Hose down tile area of drugroom each shift. Maintain personal work habits, which meet the demands and stresses of the job. Meet deadlines and production quotas. Get along with co-workers. Follow instructions. Work scheduled overtime. Perform other duties as assigned. Maintain personal attendance practices to meet established company goals. Properly weigh and mix dyes and chemicals to produce two runs from each dye machine per shift. Safety: Perform all duties in a safe manner following guidelines established by Valdese Weavers. Report all job related injuries and safety hazards to the supervisor as soon as possible. Actively participate in safety programs that identify, investigate, and correct safety hazards. Earplugs, goggles, face shield, apron, arm protector, respirator, safety belt, and any other PPE as required by MSDS QualificationsQualifications: Good communication skills with the ability to work well with others. Reading, writing, and math skills. Good physical condition – heavy lifting required. Previous Dye House, drugroom, or machine operator experience.
